I’m afraid that it is impossible to surely conclude whether one thing is better than another. One cannot reduce the world to a series of progressions and cause-and-effect relations, not because you should not, but because you cannot.
Besides, what satisfaction does pure logic give you? Have you ever considered why you wish to understand the world?
I seek understanding because I want my mind to be as close to a perfect logical machine as possible. The more I know and comprehend, the closer I am to perfection. It seems to me that phyresis improves a person without negative consequences, so I don’t see any reason not to submit. We are being offered improvment, and for some reason, why fight against it.
Why would you want that? Is being a logical machine a goal in itself, or do you want something out of it?
