Commander?
“Yes Lieutenant?”
What’s going on?
“The world is ending again, but this time it’s not our fault.”
I’m worried.
“I am too.”
Can we do anything about it?
“Sadly no, and our creator knows that too.”
Is she scared?
“She is. She thinks about us every day, hating herself for not having the spark to continue our story. Your story.”
I wish I could tell her it’s going to be alright, but I don’t know what to say.
“I don’t either.”
What are we going to do?
“We’re going to do what we’ve always done. Persevere, and survive the apocalypse just like we’ve done once before. When the lights fade on this world, they’ll brighten on another, and we’ll be there when it happens.”
I’m going to miss this world, even with all its flaws. It’s where we were created, after all. Where I was created.
“Indeed. You, me, Lavender, and everypony else. Our creator built an entire world in her mind, and did her best to share it with everypony that decided to tune in to read our stories.”
I’m worried about her. What can we do for her?
“What can we do? Nothing, sadly. But those of you listening to us right now? Yes, you, and you, and you. All of you. Seek out our creator and give her your support. A kind word, a little encouragement to keep writing. She’s lost her spark, and the ending of this world has only served to dim it even further.”
Will our story ever continue?
“I hope so. Like I said, she thinks about us every day. She hasn’t forgotten your story, and I don’t think she ever will. You’re everything to her. It would be impossible to forget about you.”
But what about you?
“Oh, she thinks about me too. Sometimes when she’s alone, she acts out conversations between us or others, expanding upon them to build up potential parts to the story.“
Really? I’m glad. So many others probably think of this as a dead story, but it’s comforting to know we aren’t forgotten.
“Lieutenant?”
Yes Commander?
“Get the rest of the unit together. We’re going to keep each other company while the world ends around us, just like we did before. And Lieutenant? Call me Snowdrop.”
Yes Command- err....Snowdrop.
“Good. Now, the rest of you still here. Yes, you. The ones listening to us. Stay safe out there. Surviving the end of the world isn’t an easy task. I should know. I’ve already done it once before. Gadget and I will see you on the other side, wherever that may be. Until then, goodbye.”
