We usually prefer to use our steel waterbottles though, since it's easier when on the march. However, it is nice to soak the pith helmets in water once in a while, since the cork absorbs it well and keeps your head cool during long hot marches.

Despite the best efforts of King Thorax, many of these unreformed bands threaten Equestria. In order to contain them and prevent them from causing trouble, the Princesses have order the Royal Army to occupy the Badlands and maintain the peace.

The color guard of the 24th Regiment of Hoof defend the flag after an ambush annihilates 2/3 of the force and surrounds the remainder.
