I made a thing for a shirt I’ll be wearing to the Bronycon! I had to make 6 though cuz of dumb printing rules (Though really having a few more works out so I can wear a new one each day :P) So I think for Bronycon I might do a giveaway quiz thing of sorts! I’ll give more deets when Bronycon gets closer but it will be Snekpon based stuff. I have 2 mediums and a large to give away so if you wear either of those sizes you’re in luck lol

Oh right. That. My it -has- been a while since I had last heard anypony using that particular school of magic I feel silly for not recognizing it now. Still, that school of magic can get awfully expensive to maintain and find proper supplies for, what with all the candles, chalk, beeswax, deer antlers, ritual ink, poison joke extract, and what have you. You can see why it was dropped for the CONSIDERABLY more economical incantation school some centuries ago, which in turn was overtaken by the more easily teachable totemic arts, and then finally to simple modern aura based magic...

Oh? A public library? I wish I could turn my private collection of tomes and scrolls into a little library for my citizens but it is a bit... dated. Unfortunately I have terrible troubles reading this newfangled ‘common’ tongue that’s popped up recently so all of my books are in Classical Echidnaean. I do hope to teach it to Equestrians one day it really is a lovely language!

Man I haven’t done anthro/human in 5ever lol, working on thing for the tumblrpon fight thingy by Wishdream since I guess Meddy is taking up a slot, might take me a while :P this is just front ref, still have back ref, probably a detail for shoulder, and actual fightpose of some kind I wanna do, and color lol but for now here is line front ref of Meddy without sneks :P Oh and if you’re wondering what her weapon is, the answer’s simple, her snekbebs will do the fighting for her lol

Sorry for disappearing suddenly! Got pulled away for vacation times then kept forgetting to actually draw lol. Anyways here’s a super late birthday doodle for blackteadragon! Of their kirin pon meeting one of Meddy’s travelling merchants :P I’ll get to some proper posts later this week!

I know I’m on vacation but AHSGKFJAHGSDKJASHDGF this episode, so much Greek, so many headcanons, so little time. Greek Gods (or at least cultural reference to them)! A second Greek Mythical locale! A CYCLOPS!1!! So I just had to get to doodling SOMETHING when I had the time lol  Oops yeah a bit of a makeover is coming to Meddy’s cyclops ponies now, and I have some fun lore bits to go with it :P Still fiddling with the design but have a look! They’ll get some new cutie mark designs too but that was something already planned, something that says “Not Equestrian” so theirs are going to be a little bit more wispy and abstract now compared to their Equestrian counterparts, no more “Here’s a picture of a frying pan on my butt” 

It’s still a design I might fiddle with more but I’m kinda happy with it, their original model was based on error pon from Best Night Ever but I think Arimaspi makes for a better ancestral inspiration 

Plus pretty much EVERYTHING about Griffins follows their classical Greek inspirations, hoards gold like dragons, live in Hyperborea/Hyperborean Mountains (said second mythical Greek locale), battles something called Arimaspi (more of a mythical tribe than a cyclops in the original myth but I liked the change so whatevs lol), and headcanon confirmed all their names start with a G :P

Perhaps you could regale us with some history of naval vessels? Any notable Echidnean shipwrights responsible for the Marediterranean's finest merchant barges, or its most nefarious pirate ships?

“Ah yes our maritime history! Now that is a rich tradition on our island dating back to the very First Age of Principality! The first documented instance of Echidnaean contact with the far away land of Equestria came during our Imperial age through Aulus Stratum Cupitor, by way of his ship Horizon. As for our NAVAL history, I’m afraid it is not quite as glorious as that of our trade ships. Our first documented navy came during the late Imperial Age as well under the eye of the former empress Stheno. Unfortunately this documentation comes as the empress used said navy to quell the Hyperion Revolt, one of the prime starting points for the events our history knows as the Age of Terror. Echidna has not had its own standing military navy since the Second Age of Principality at princess Medusa’s own request since, well… I do not believe it my place to divulge the princess’ personal history for her. In any case we have mostly left our maritime protection since to that of her father Phorcys and her mother Ceto, as well as various mercenary and privateer vessels to and from other lands as needed. 

This has left our island a bit vulnerable in the long run to the threat of piracy, a problem plaguing our island to this very day from the likes of Boukris the Clipped and other nefarious outlaws hiding about the Dragon’s Fire Delta.”
