Ask Raymond Shields

An RP page for Tateyuki Shigaraki; Raymond Shields in the fan translation. For those curious, he's a character in Gyakuten Kenji 2, or Ace Attorney Investigations 2, a Japan-only part of the Ace Attorney series. Ask me a question, and I may or may not answer. I'll try to get to everything, but it may take some time. I've also recently decided I'd be happy to do RP with anyone, so send me a prompt if you'd like. I'm fairly new to the Tumblr scene, so please be a little lenient with me.

Rookie Edgeworth glared at the defense attorney, unimpressed, and unfazed by his familiar face of his opponent. "I understand that we've been acquainted," he said icily, "But that will not affect my court performance. You stand to lose the trial, Mr. Shields, so I'd rather you not prolong it with your shameless bluffing tactics." (FINALLY FOUND AN AAI2 BLOG YEEEES)

Ray was quiet. There were mixed emotions in his head upon seeing Miles… Miles von Karma, as far as he was concerned. It didn’t feel right what Miles had done, but Ray had tried to ignore it and move on. He had Gregory’s legacy to carry out, after all. He grinned, placing his hand on his fedora.

“Well, just in case you’re wondering, Gregory’s office is doing just fine. Uncle Ray’s been taking good care of it.”. There was a sense of bitterness in his words usually lacking in his sincere charm. “Go ahead and use whatever shady tricks old Manfred taught you.”, he said with a smile. “But that won’t stop me from doing my best, too. It’s hardly bluffing if I’ve got the evidence, now, is it?”

“Hmph. Human beings supply us with the exact reason they require laws. Without law and order, men would swallow each other alive.”

“But I believe we have deliberated upon our ideals long enough, Mr. Shields. If you so wish to uphold my late father’s regimen, prove your worth in court. I must caution you yet again, that defeating me will be no easy task. Whether I may have shamed my surname is not a matter of discussion.”

“Ahem. I digress. I see the distraught bailiff is doing his utmost to marshal us into the courtroom, so our competition must continue as attorney and prosecutor. Shall we?”

“Fine by me.”, he said with a laugh. “Maybe your face won’t look so arrogant from across the courtroom.”

“Good luck out there, Miles. I’m looking forward to taking on a von Karma in court!”. He’d bet he first to admit that got more personal than he’d like... but he had a job to do, and his client came first. Into the courtroom it went.

Now, Jai’s interest was pretty much half scientific. Which was a bit of a pity, because she did have all the charm of a performer - if rather unhoned at this point.  He clapped enthusiastically, half trying to assess the ornament on her arm which seemed to be the source.

“Pretty outstanding, huh? Now, for one last draw!”, she jumped from the sign enthusiastically, drawing a card and landing on one knee, the card outstretched. “Well, what are the odds? It’s the star of the show! Odd-Eyes Dragon!”, placing the new card on the device, a bright hologram lit up of a strangle looking dragon, roaring where Yuya had stood atop the sign.

No, that was most certainly not the answer he was looking for. He might have his own branch, but he still worked at Edgeworth Law Firms as far as he was concerned. “No, I can’t say it was. I was expecting a Miles Edgeworth to work here too, at least. Is he… still alive?” It was blunt, but he saw no need to dance around the matter.

“Hmm... yeah, Miles is still alive. You- uh, he- is a prosecutor.”

“It’s a bit of a long story as to why that is, though. If you’ve got time, I could tell you, but I’m pretty confused as to your situation as well.”

“Whoo!” Reptile club represent! Wait, if it was a hologram - how was concentrated beams of light moving her around?

“And what else do we have up our sleeve?”, she landed atop the sign again, drawing another card. “Why, it’s... Entermate Partnaga!”, another snake appeared, this one with a waving cartoon hand on the end of its tail.

“Hey, I’m ready when you are, kid!” Well, after he lit up. Might as well multitask! A lighter click later and he was ready for round two.

“Perfect! Then I introduce to you... Entermate Whip Viper!”, placing a card on the device on her arm, a purple snake in a strange circus outfit appeared, winding its tail around the sign and it’s head around Yuya’s arm. In an instant, she was off the ground and swinging from side to side.

Why did I choose my URL?: Well, that’s a pretty boring story. This blog was originally just planned to be an ask blog for Ray, but when I found out about the RP community and the idea behind it I decided to bring RPing into the world.

What is your middle name?: Mmmffff my middle name is Mark, after my grandfather. I don’t mind it but I don’t like it that much, either.

If you could own a fairytale/fictional pet, what would it be?: Milotic please. I want a Milotic. Specifically Feefee.

Favorite color: Pink. I like pink.

Favorite Song?: Uhhhh this changes every four seconds, but I’m currently listening to this track from Arc-V a lot.

What are your top five fandoms?: I think instead of this I’ll just list the fandoms I’m in, being Ace Attorney, Pokemon, Professor Layton, Yugioh, and the non-existent Angel Beats fandom.

Why do you enjoy tumblr?: Well, RPing is a blast, of course, but there’s also the fact that the friends I’ve made here are some of the most important people to me who’ve helped with a lot of things in my life. That’s also a thing.

“Hey - if ya need a test audience, y’got one, kid!” Ah, she was a real cutie though…A winning smile earned a winning smile.

“Definitely! There’s always got to be an audience!”, she nodded determinedly. Having an enthusiastic audience helped a lot, too. Not like the others who didn’t seem to care. Now that was the smile of an enthralled audience.

Oh. Oh, no… Poor kid.”Of course, kiddo!” The problem with having three entire moms is that you had no idea how on earth to deal with anything involving dads. “You learned well! I’m pretty damn entertained right now, an’ I’m an entertainer’a sorts myself. Keep up th’ good work!” He clapped wildly, like any good audience ought to.

“Then all that’s left is to find the perfect finishing crowd-pleaser! Maybe if I release all my Hippos and bring out Odd-Eyes...”, she mumbled to herself, thinking, before snapping back to attention. “Oh, but that’s right!”, she bowed dramatically. “We’re glad you enjoyed the show!”

Holograms! Like Miku Hatsune and Micheal Jackson. He understood this. The principles of holography were rather familiar to Jai - he’d taken a rather long detour studying them as one of his final projects for his Physics degree. “Well, I’m pretty damn entertained, so, ya did it!”

“Awesome!”, she exclaimed with glee. “I’m getting to be a better entertainer by the day! Maybe some day I’ll be as good as my dad. He was the inventor of entertainment dueling! People kept saying he ran away but that’s just a lie. And when he comes back he’ll see how much better I got at it.”

“S-sure is, kiddo.” Jai didn’t even know what was up, anymore - but now she was off the gate, at least. “How’d you do that, huh?” It sure was something he hadn’t seen before.

“It’s the magic of my entertainment dueling!”, she replied with a wink. Then, after a short pause, she added. “Well... that and this duel disk here. It’s not Real Solid Vision out here, but it still creates lifelike holograms of my cards.”

Well, that certainly caught the at least 10% of his remaining attention span. 

There were six dancing, colorful hippos, one girl standing on a gate, and only one dragon. Unusual circumstances popped up every day, of course, but this one was a little more extreme than the usual standard RPG fare.

“Thank you, thank you, hold your applause!”

She looked over at the school behind her before jumping down from the gate. It’d probably be best to stop now before Yuzu decided to show up and smack her with a fan again. “Fantastic, isn’t it?”, she said with a prideful bow.
