The day Earth broke the news to Moon was rough. Everyone came by to offer Earth condolences. Neil Armstrong had become a bit of a legend, even to the other planets. Mars told stories about him like some humans did about Chuck Norris.
No one really realized how much it would affect Moon though, not even Earth really noticed in her own grief.
Moon simply slipped off when she was told and no one saw her for days. No one even noticed she was missing for days, the grief was strong in the while house. Surprisingly enough it was Mercury who noticed first, and went to find her. He had to search every room in the Estate House before he found her, on the ground floor in an old unused room that everyone had forgotten about.
Once the room had been covered in dust and grime and eons of dirt but no longer. All those days Moon had been gone she had been busy. The side room was pristine now and almost seemed to glow as the air surrounding Moon was filled with an air of grim acomplishment.
Along one wall were pictures of the Cosmonaught and NASA Space programs and every of one of Earth's Explorers. Portraits and plaques for those who had passed and spaces for those who had not yet gone. Along the other wall were pictures of the planets themselves. Straight ahead however was the largest memorial with Neil Armstrong's picture just above it.
Mercury was speechless for along time and he didn't even think Moon noticed him. Quietly he turned around and gathered the others to show them what Moon had made for them all to see.
Earth and Pluto had been arguing a lot recently. Everyone had noticed, really it would be hard to notice them shouting across the house at each other. No one really knew why it started not even the two arguing but day by Earthly day it got louder, more heated. Jupiter and Neptune tried to get them to settle down and actually talk things out instead of shouting but nothing worked. Mars and Venus weren't helping, taking Earth's side and putting the Pluto down constantly. Finally Pluto had had enough and said something terrible and Earth lost it as well, and said something worse.
"You aren't even a planet Pluto, you're just an over-grown asteroid!"
Pluto had been so shocked they hadn't even been able to respond. Simply storming out of the house, everyone could see the tears forming in Pluto's eyes. Mars and Venus cheered Earth's victory, Mercury looked uncomfortable. Moon thought this was all terribly undignified. Jupiter and Neptune were both furious and Saturn...Saturn was devastated.
Saturn had never really gotten to know the smaller planets. They never really thought they worth the time it took to talk. That look that pure devastated look on Pluto's face showed their pain plainly.
With a glare in the direction of Mars, Venus, and Earth Saturn followed Pluto into the yard. The smaller planet (Pluto WAS a planet, Saturn didn't know what Earth was thinking) wasn't all that hard to follow. Pluto hadn't made it all the far before they had fallen to their knees, sobbing openly. It was well known to the inner rocky group that Pluto was sensitive to their size. None of the larger planets had ever really considered the thought. Then again size wasn't really anything any of them had worried about, if anything they might worry about becoming to big but that wasn't really a concern either.
Slowly and carefully Saturn went to sit next to Pluto, wondering what to say. Wondering if anything would help at all.
"Don't you DARE tell me they didn't mean it," Pluto bit out before Saturn could even say anything.
"I wouldn't dream of it, I have no idea if they meant it or not," Saturn replied, trying to stay calm for Pluto's sake. "Besides I don't really care. I know the truth and I hope you do too."
"What are you talking about?"
"The truth is: you are a planet, just like the rest of us..."
"Saturn they're right though," the anguish in Pluto's voice stabbed Saturn somewhere deep inside and they cringed slightly "I am just an over-grown asteroid..."
"Do you think you're a planet Pluto?" Saturn continued on, hoping not to fuel the terrible thoughts Pluto had voiced.
"N...well...yes of course," Pluto was surprised and sounded almost suspicious of the question.
"Then you are one." Saturn tried to push all the confidence into their tone as they could. That was the only way they knew how they could pull Pluto out of this.
"It isn't that simple!"
"It is to me..." And with that statement Saturn met Pluto's eyes for the first time in the whole conversation and started crying themself at the look of shock, disbelief and relief on the smaller planet's face.
Pluto couldn't help it anymore and launched themself into Saturn's waiting arms, sobbing again.
"Saturn why? They were my friend once." Suddenly Pluto was grateful they had a friend's chest to cry on. They had felt so alone. So...lost. But not now, in Saturn's arms, they felt safe.
"I don't know Pluto, I don't know," Saturn replied, stroking Pluto's hair gently. But I'm sure as hell not going to abandon you like that. I swear it.

I know this is mostly an ask/RP-esque blog but it also functions as my fandom blog for the MWF so I'll publish all my fics and reblog etc to this one :)
Do you think maybe we could leave some flowers maybe? Or if you would rather do it alone, that's fine, too. Just figured I would offer my support. (Yay~! Moon-senpai spoke to me without getting embarrassed or angry! This calls for a celebration! A feast! A feast I say! Play it cool, act natural, act natural, don't be weird . . . ) I think it would be a little difficult to go sledding in Pyrite snow, but I still want to see it. Radar images can only show so much. :)
Earth: *has a comforting hand on Moon's shoulder* We will lay them there for you, thank you for the thought.
Moon: *embarrassed that Earth is comforting them and not the other way around* Yes, thank you.
Yeah, but it totally doesn't snow pyrite on Earth. Venus has that distinction. Venus, I hope you don't mind, we were learning about you in one of my geology classes. ^^; We were looking at radar images from the Pioneer missions, I think. (the prof is a planetary geologist) Some of your mountains are super cool! Also, Moon, I'm sorry I didn't send my condolences sooner about Neil Armstrong. How are you holding up?
Moon: I will move on, I suppose. We have a memorial for all of Earth's adventures in a room of the Estate.
Venus: Your professor has good taste if you're learning about me! Pyrite snow is of course much more beautiful than Water snow, don't you agree?
Earth: Pretty but Deadly, just like the rest of you!

This time it’s Mercury and Sun.
Before you question why Mercury has a tail, it’s because Mercury, the planet, actually has a comet-like tail (And I couldn’t get the image out of my head xD).
Like the other headcannon descriptions of other, Mercury is fast and I can imagine she could use her tail to keep her balance while running (like a cheetah).
But I can imagine Mercury being a little self-conscious of her tail sense no one else has it and makes her stick out further.
Mercury’s hair is that color because she lives close to Sun and her hair became bleached, no one’s quite sure what her real original hair color was. And the freckles was more to represent the many craters Mercury has.
I imagine Sun being this pleasantly plump woman. Unfortunately, I couldn’t really show it in this chibi form :I
Sun is Motherly and fairly warm person. But she does have moments when she gets stressed and has her outbursts.
I doodled my classic!versions of Earth & Jupiter. :’D
Jupiter was more or less inspired by his corresponding God, Jove, hence the gold armor fit for a king. As for Earth, I was really stuck wondering what gender to make him or her, so, instead, I kind of worked toward a middle ground. I’ll probably consider him/her to be male, myself, but I don’t mind if others choose differently. ^ ^
Hopefully, in the future, I can draw the rest of the planets and more modern versions. o 3 o
