I know everyone talks about Hans and everyone thinks he’s the worst animated villain ever, but guys

have you forgotten the Other Mother from Coraline?

She took sad kids from their homes and made them think they were living in paradise and made them so happy they would want to stay with her

but then as soon as they decided to stay, she forced them to SEW BUTTONS INTO THEIR EYES and then ATE THEIR SOULS!

And when Coraline refused? She turned into this monstrous monstrosity

and then forced her to participate in three sick and twisted games and when Coraline nearly won, she turned into this even worse form

and then proceeded to chase Coraline in a sequence so terrifying it even scared adults

So when everyone goes on about Hans and Mother Grothel, remember this lady and how she was so terrifying she scared an audience of adults

To be fair, there are people who have watched Coraline and not been phased by this psychotic other mother (I am one of them). To me the most terrifying is Mother Gothel. Not because of being creepy but because she was much like my real mother. It bothers me to watch Tangled just because of that woman. Coraline one of my faves to watch.

Immediately, the members of the growing crowd proposition her sexually (“will you do me in that later”) and hurl accusations about her gender (“it’s a SHIM!”). They are enraged by her silence. “God will laugh at your calamity,” a preacher wails.

Alright... I watched this and wanted to take this girl in my arms and hug her. Lets talk about this a little bit. Tumblr romanticizes LGBTs. Look at the gif above. Some bitch pushed her to the ground. No one in their right minds anywhere would wish to be trans. Just like being gay or any other gender variation. YOU ARE BORN THAT WAY! You don’t just wake up some day during a mid life crisis and say, “Ya know... I think I wanna be a woman for the rest of my life. NO! It is who we are. No one in their right mind wants this. This is what happens to trans people when they show themselves as comfortable within their own skin. We are assaulted and killed as well. We are torn apart and made to feel like second rate people. Trans people of color... you got it even worse. This is a major issue. The other thing I noticed while watching this was a distinct lack of Allies. Those people who say they support Transpeople and their rights. Take a look around in this video. How many ‘Allies’ do you see. All these people with their cameras can’t be hateful jerks. I am willing to bet some claimed to be Allies yet when a person who was clearly being abused, tormented, and flat out torn apart not a single person stepped up to help. Allies... If you see something like this happening and you fail to step in and help the person, you give up your right to use that word to represent yourself.

Finally to all my brothers and sisters out there who are also trans. The world we live in is screwed up. When this sort of thing is allowed to happen because we aren’t a cookie cutter gender, It’s time to speak up. We aren’t doing this for attention. It’s not some sexual thrill. It’s not some sort of phase that will just pass. It is people wanting to live their lives as their chosen gender. No longer should it be acceptable to say to a person who is living this life, When you were a man or when you were a woman. WE ARE WOMEN! WE ARE MEN! We are who we are. The past is in the past and that is where it can stay! We will learn from it but we do not live in it. If someone doesn’t like that... get out of our way. We will not conceal who we are to make you comfortable.
