The little Caboose poked his head out from behind a stack of yet-to-be restored radios, nearly knocking them over. “Joey? Mmm... Probably in the back room taking inventory!”
Electra and CB Fluff
It had been months since anyone had seen any trace of Electra; not even the Components were to be seen. Everyone just assumed that Electra moved on to the next city, forgetting all about Starlight. They were wrong.
CB, on the other hand, was still frequently seen, despite being banned from trains for a year. The little Caboose was fumbling with his hearing aids, which, along with his radio and aerials, were destroyed by Electra during their freakout at the end of the races. He’d never forget the electric engine’s face when they saw what they did to CB; a face that changed from fury and shame, to guilt and sorrow. They didn’t realize the strength of the electricity they had released during the tantrum, and they certainly didn’t expect the Caboose’s equipment to be fried from it.
CB sighed; he wished he could see that gorgeous engine just one more time, even if just to tell them he was never mad at them, that it was an accident. If only…
His thoughts were disrupted when he felt the vibrations of a ruckus nearby. Looking up, he saw a crowd of trainfolk crowding a certain tall, beautiful electric engine. Oddly enough, the Components were not present, but CB assumed they were nearby somewhere. He was more shocked when he got a clear view of Electra’s mouth, demanding to see “the little red Caboose”. And he could only stare in shock when Electra finally stood before him, signing fluently to him.
‘Hey CB…’ They signed to him, giving a small, sad smile.
'Hey… What’re you doing here? Did I do something wrong?’
Electra shook their head and sat next to CB, sighing. 'No, you did nothing wrong. I… I wanted to apologize… For wrecking your gear. And for running away like I did… I just… That was the last thing I wanted to have done, was to hurt you in any way…’ They paused to let CB absorb what he had just been told.
CB couldn’t believe it; Electra apologizing? And what was up with them saying the last thing they wanted was to hurt him? He thought they hated him!
CB nodded, as Electra continued.
'CB… You are a wonderful and sweet little Caboose… I know you have a good heart underneath the killer side of you… I know you have some problems… But I don’t care. I like you a lot, CB, more than I’ve ever liked anyone else.’ They finished, softly taking the Caboose’s hand in their own.
CB’s cheeks glowed brightly as he felt his heart flutter and his mind turn to mush. This had to have been a dream. But it wasn’t!
'Electra… I… I forgive you. It was only an accident. And also… I like you a lot too… But, are you going to go away again?’ He signed, feeling fearful for their relationship to be.
Electra smiled, shaking their head. 'Absolutely not, baby. My pride was hurt from the races, but my heart was broken from what happened with you. Leaving made it worse, when I thought it would fix it. Me and the Components are going to live here in Starlight City. And the first thing I want to do is get you new hearing aids and a new radio, with better aerials.’
CB beamed, and threw his arms around the tall engine, giving them a peck on the cheek.
Electra did not say anything, as they smiled and kissed the Caboose’s lips softly and lovingly. They both knew that everything would be alright.

“Oi, Pearl... Gotta second?” The young brick truck said as he entered the Museum, looking a bit troubled as he clutched Brick close.

“Be your sweet self,” Rusty smiled down at her, trying to cool his engine down. Do you love Brick like Rusty loves me?“ Pearl asked him, curiously. "And can I pet Brick?” She smiled.
“S’hard to explain how I love Brick... He’s loyal and well-behaved... And loves me back. And yeah, you can pet him,” he replied, removing the brick from its holster on his belt.
“I’d love to go inside! That’d be great. You’re so funny, with that brick and everything.” Pearl giggled loudly at him and Brick; Rusty covered her mouth and shook his head. “Stop it, Pearl. Remember what I told you?”
Rusty said angrily, making her frown. Pearl started to whine, pulling his hand off her mouth. “It’s really weird-” “No. Stop.” Rusty scolded. “I’m so sorry, Flat Top.” Rusty apologized.
Surprisingly enough, Flat-Top didn’t lose his temper like usual, nor did he get defensive about Brick. Instead he just nodded, “Yea, s’awright, Rusty...”
“I don’t know.” Rusty sighed. Pearl fanned herself, breathing heavily. “It’s just so hot, Flat Top. The rails are burning my wheels.” She pouted. “Can you help us?”
“Mm... If ya don’t got passengers now, you can come inside the Brickworks fer a bit. We got air conditionin’,” he shrugged, standing and holstering Brick.
Summer had taken its toll on Starlight City; it was humid and hot, and nobody wanted to work that day. Luckily, there would be no freight trains for the next few days. The crew were very happy to hear that.
In the freight yard, the Rockies were training while Dustin watched them and cheered when one of them knocked the punching bag off of its hook.
But nearby at the Brickworks, a certain little punk was sulking, more than usual. Flat Top sat on a stack of bricks, kicking a rock around as he held Brick close to him. He was very unusually quiet, having caused no trouble that whole day. Instead, the little brick truck sat at his home, occasionally glancing over to the boxcars and Dustin, only to quickly look away once he caught sight of the hopper.
He was so caught up in his thoughts and misery that he hadn’t heard the little steam engine roll up to him.

Rusty had Pearl on his couplings, and he was trying to keep her cool. So, he went near Flat Top, where the shaded trees would hopefully keep her from overheating. “Oh my Starlight,” Rusty huffed, steam coming out from his head. He ran his fingers through his bronze hair, sighing. “It’s so hot out here, isn’t it?” Rusty told Flat Top, “Poor Pearl was about to pass out. Our passengers have air conditioning and we don’t.” He said, shrugging his shoulders. “It’s really unfair!”

Moar Caboose Headcanon
There are three types of Cabooses: Northern, Southern, and Boxcar.
Northern Cabooses are born with a soft, fur-like hair on their bodies, in the same places that hair grows on Humans. Most Cabooses just call their body hair fur because of how soft and fine it is.
Southern Cabooses only have head and facial hair.
Boxcar Cabooses can run the gamut; some have fur, some don’t, some only have fur on certain spots.
CB is half Northern, half Boxcar, and inherited the body fur from his father (a Northern Caboose). Joey loved sleeping on his chest as a baby, as it was nice and warm not only from his core, but from his down-like fur as well. X3
I can’t even. OLC CB was something else, that’s for sure. XDDD Just, every appearance he makes I laugh.

Species/Race: Component, born Human and became a Cyborg shortly before meeting Electra. Afro-German.
Occupation: Ex-bodyguard, currently works on restoring tanks and military vehicles.

Personality: Serious, strong sense of morality, loyal, proud of his family and heritage, fatherly, protective, a more-than-willing listener. Interests: World War II, German tanks, coffee, traveling, reading, being with family and friends, technical details of machinery, repairing and restoring military hardware.
Backstory: Joachim was born to the Krupp family, a once powerful German dynasty of steel workers and armaments manufacturers. He is somewhat an outcast, as he is half black as opposed to being pure German. He fights hard to defend his identity as a proud German. When the Company (refers to the Krupp company) developed a new way to weaponized and arm people, Joachim proudly volunteered for the program. His body was mechanized and armed with high technology and powerful weapons. He still has much of his biology intact, but the machine part of him intimidates people. He is proud to be part machine, as he has now become one of the beings he loves so much: machines and military hardware.
Joachim currently lives with Electra and the other Components, is dating Wrench, and is a sort of step-father to Percival.
