so I LOVE storytelling in the sims, and I love legacy challenges because following a single family is SO fun for me and watching townie families evolve as my family goes on is just as exciting. The one thing I’m not a huge fan of is how a lot of legacy challenges set out specific traits and storylines for players to follow, when my favorite part of the sims is figuring out sims’ personalities for themselves. SO.

I wrote my own challenge with a little less structure, just to allow players some more storytelling freedom (but still have some goals to chase). This is a NINE (9) generation challenge, based off of nine gems, all of which are collectable in base game.

ASCENDANT LEGACY CHALLENGE RULES

If you know me, you know how obsessed I am with astrology.

I have studied astrology and chart reading for years and I wanted to create two of my oldest and deepest loves, the sims and astrology. This is a 12 Gen legacy challenge focused on the Ascendant/Rising sign, so I named the challenge the Ascendant Legacy Challenge tag-> #ts4 Ascendant Legacy 

The challenge has lots of different aspects and items, so read the entire post. The challenge isn’t base game friendly, but can be adapted

Ornate Tiling - Patch Content Expanded

Patch content can be a nice surprise, and the pre-RoM patch was one of those. Not only was a gorgeous brick added, but a lovely half-tile wall. I don’t tend to use those that much and prefer full tile walls, so i decided to take the design and turn it into a matching floor and full tile wall. There are 6 styles of tile used so these will match those included with the patch to give you a bit more usability.

Designed with and working with game version 1.51.77.1020 This trait pack adds a total of eight new traits (six Hobby traits and two others) most of which require your Sim to regularly participate in their favorite pastime or else risk becoming stressed out. Each trait comes with new moodlets, social interactions with custom loots and speech bubbles, and whim sets. Traits - Artisan These Sims enjoy making things by hand, and will become Happy when woodworking, making flower arrangements, or baking. - Competitive These Sims love to take part in games of skill. They get powerful moodlets from winning or losing a game, and may become Bored if they don�t take part in competitions for too long. Misery Traits V3

There are a handful of updates from the V2 along with a new trait: Chronic Headaches. All traits are in separate packages within one zip, so if there is a trait you don’t want, you can delete its package. Here’s what each trait does: Alien Hater: “Alien Haters despise aliens and are disgusted by their very existence” Type: Personality, Social Features: Angry proximity buffs from both aliens (+2) and sims involved in alien pregnancy (+4)! Alien Haters can also complain about aliens, making non alien hating sims Embarrassed (+3) and fellow alien hating sims Happy (+5, because it’s hard to find someone else sharing the haterade :p), each for 4 hours. Alien Haters can also hurl Anti Alien Insults and make Aliens tense (+5) from their hateful words. They can also insult alien genes when they feel angry about a nearby alien pregnancy. Requirements: Get To Work (because aliens), the icon comes from Outdoor Retreat so let me know if that causes an issue! Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD): “Sims with SAD become depressed during the Fall and Winter months” Type: Personality, Emotional Features: Sad (+4) buff from the Fall & Winter seasons, provided it’s not terribly hot outside. Probably most useful anywhere but Oasis Springs. Known Issues: Buffs/Loot acquired from Season and Temperature proximity take some time to show up when you first load up (all later loads will not have this problem), most of the time (sometimes it is fast), but it will appear within a few sim hours. Requirements: Seasons Hay Fever: “Sims with hay fever suffer throughout the Spring months” Type: Personality, Lifestyle Features: Uncomfortable (+3) buff during Spring, causes coughing and sneezing. Flower Arranging Skill gain is decreased (hard to learn when you’re sneezing all the time!) Known Issue: See SAD Trait Requirements: Seasons, Get To Work for the idle animations Allergic to Cats/Allergic to Dogs: “Sims allergic to [cats/dogs] have a hard time being near [cats/dogs] without sneezing!” Type: Personality, Lifestyle Features: Uncomfortable (+3) buff around [cats/dogs], causes coughing and sneezing Requirements: Cats & Dogs, Get To Work for the idle animations Hates Heat: “Sims who hate heat do not enjoy warm weather! Air Conditioning only lasts so long, these sims just really hate the heat!” Type: Personality, Lifestyle Features: Uncomfortable (+4) buff when it is hot; it goes away as long as they have the “refreshing air conditioning buff” but as soon as that wears off, there’s no fooling them: these sims know when it’s just too hot! When this buff is active, they will play “melting” animations. Sims are drama queens! Requirements: Seasons Can’t Stand Cold: “Sims who can’t stand cold dislike cold weather. Heating only lasts so long, they just really can’t stand the cold!” Type: Personality, Lifestyle Features: Uncomfortable (+4) buff when it is cold; it goes away as long as they have the “central heating” buff but as soon as that wears off, there’s no fooling them: these sims know when it’s just too cold! When this buff is active, they will play “freezing” animations. Sims are drama queens! Requirements: Seasons Fame Jealous: “Sims who are fame jealous feel negatively towards celebrities.“ Type: Personality, Social Features: Sad Buff (+3) when near celebrity sims, Angry Buff (+3) as well when those sims happen to have a less than good reputation. Requirements: Get Famous, Icon comes from Parenthood. Will update when Get Famous icons can be used in Constructor. Dry Skin: “Sims with dry skin feel itchy during the dryness of Winter” Type: Personality, Lifestyle Features: Uncomfortable (+4) buff during cold Winter days, causes itching. Requirements: Seasons, Get to Work for idle animations **NEW** Chronic Headaches: “Sims with chronic headaches go through life often with a pain in the head.” Type: Personality, Lifestyle Features: Uncomfortable (+4) occasional buff with headache idles. Requirements: Get to Work for idle animations.

EroSim’s Ladder Shelf Edit & Retexture

I mean let’s be honest this shelf is amazing, but only 2 slots? Let’s fix that.

This cute shelf is now all cleaned up and fully retextured with lots more slots! There are now 104 new slots for various deco pieces. This version of the shelf is simply natural woods. I plan to do a version with all the color bands going forward but for now, it sports 9 swatches of pretty wood-like tones.

OMSP SHELF - by amoebae

I LOVE clutter, but I hate having to use lots of individual OMSPs, and sometimes they (and the 9 & 0 keys) never quite reach the right height. 

I decided to make myself an OMSP shelf to kill two birds with one stone: 

a large, deep OMSP with plenty of small, medium and large slots so I can clutter a whole space in one go

make the OMSP work like a shelf, moving up and down the wall smoothly with the alt key so as to fine tune the placement

DOWNLOAD [SFS; base game compatible; updated 2018-01-31]

NOTES: This won’t work if you want to clutter a table in the middle of a room; whatever you want to clutter must be near a wall as the shelf acts like, well… a shelf. It’s deep enough to cover a kitchen counter or the top of a fridge, and you can of course use it to set items at a particular height before dragging them off (holding down alt) and placing them wherever you want.

The shelf is nice and chunky and also sticks out just a little further than a counter, making it easy to move it around and to select it to change the swatch from red to invisible. Sims will walk right through it and still use any surface it’s embedded in.

You can find it at the beginning of the shelf category, it costs nothing, and you’ll need to enable moo to use all the slots.

I’ve updated the package with a potential fix for the shadow many were seeing around the shelf when it was invisible. Please redownload and replace the package (your already-placed shelves should stay where they are in game). If this fix doesn’t work I have another up my sleeve, so please let me know if you still have any issues.
