Half a dozen men and women cluster around one another in a lightless room, voices tight with fear and righteous fury.
“Who are these interlopers? Who dares trespass into our holy land?”
“The ritual... did we not do it correctly? Was there some error... is there something that we missed?”
“Every footstep they take is heresy!”
“I say we flush them out, leave their entrails for the crows. That should satisfy the Heralds.”
And so it went, until—
“The ritual was no failure.” The new voice cut through their voices with an authority that could not be denied, quavery as it was. “This was nothing short of a miracle, brothers and sisters.” All eyes turned to the speaker: his gnarled hands stretch up to the ceiling, brushing against cobwebs fouled with dust. “Truly, we have been blessed.”
They do not have the gall to mutter among themselves, but he sees it all the same. The sagely grandfather’s lips twitch upwards into the ghost of a smile, his eyes meeting that of every person in the room.
“The eyes of the weak-minded see interlopers. Invaders. Simple-minded heathens that would dishonor our struggle. The eyes of faith see nothing less than Providence. They are what we need.”
Several moments pass in silence. A young man is the first to step forwards, his eyes gleaming with zeal.
“They… yes, they are suitable constituents. It’s perfect. Just... just say the word and we shall gather them before us, new stock for the—”
“Let them be. We proceed as the writ bids us.” The old man raises a hand to cut his acolyte short. “We avoid contact. We only observe through the appropriate means. They should be busy enough, struggling to survive in this nightmare they’ve woken up to...”
“Yes. Of course.” The young man lowers his head. “I... I apologize for my outburst. It was not my place to speak.”
“There is a time for all things, my child.” The old man smiles, the picture of grandfatherly wisdom, paternal and sweet. “The harvest will come in due course. For now we wait as we have been bidden.”

As of now, Asphodel Valley’s first event is now over! The town’s now normal, or as ‘normal’ as a town like Asphodel Valley can be.
All the phenomena described on the masterlist are now in effect. The streets will shift and change every few days, the dead roam in smaller packs, so on and so forth.
