thought experiment i love to ask people but which has been accused of "bringing the mood down" in certain circumstances. in the future, hypothetically, science manages to produce ethically-created lab-grown meat that is identical to the taste of human meat. let's say a food scientist does have to take one for the team and compare it to the taste of actual human meat from a real person, but the taste-test meat was taken with informed consent from someone who signed a registry just like any other tissue donation, and no one was coerced or harmed in the creation of the lab-human meat. it tastes exactly like real human flesh, as far as everyone knows, but it's completely ethically sourced and produced identically to other cultured meat products that already exist.
