Big fan of the fact that, in Frankenstein 2025, Victor did not run from his monster because he was "too grotesque" like in the original novel. The film established that Victor is very comfortable with the grotesque. He's not disconcerted by it, which makes sense. He's building a man out of dead men's body parts. Why would he suddenly be shocked at its appearance?

I love that what GDT did instead. Victor was not afraid of the grotesqueness of life, but the responsibility of it.

You made life, and it's no more than a baby. You must now raise it and nurture it and teach it and love it, and THAT was what was too much for Victor.

Just a really awesome change that worked REALLY well.

Edit: it's been over 10 years since I read the original novel so I may be misremembering, cut me some slack. I'm not interested in book vs movie discourse, I just like how the movie further emphasized this theme.

You know, I feel like the Vegas and Pete trailer is actually pretty telling about their future relationship? Like I still can't believe creators went THERE. The way Vegas is touching Pete and the way Pete responds? I'm definitely seeing Pete as a sub. Now I'm also curious if he's a masochist but my guess would be that he is based on that trailer and episode 7 and his interactions with Vegas in episode 9.

I mean, the trailer is extremely telling about them.

The way Pete turns his face into that touch? The way he's breathing and shuddering but still looking.

Again, Pete is always looking. He looks and he watches and he sees and he never looks away.

I also wanna add how Vegas looks at Pete. We've seen Vegas look at a lot of other people and we've seen him watching Porsche.

But that focus? The all-encompassing stare? The way he leans closer to him and stays closer to him and slides into his space? Vegas is fascinated.

So much in so little, so much in the tiniest moments.

And the end, as well all know...

I really am looking forward to seeing how this translate into the show. What are we going to see? What's going to happen? How will they show us all of this?
