hi!! i am a fat, nonbinary (they/them, TME) illustrator in my early 20s making soft, cozy art exploring queer bodies and intimacies

primarily, i tend to draw cartoon-inspired portraits focused on character design + fashion illustration + slice of life scenery.

i am an adult and my artwork is occasionally suggestive, involving illusions to kink/BDSM or substance use. some of my more experimental art also veers towards themes of death, decay, and rebirth. all content will be tagged appropriately.

i have a fandom art blog and a nsfw art blog. there may be some crossover here, but my goal is to keep this blog a bit more focused on my artistic development + reaching a wider audience x

I'm seeing warnings about scammers trying to commission artists but the "reference sheet" for their character they want commissioned isn't an image but a .vbs file ("visual basic script"), and will run a script when you open it, probably to yoink your account(s), but I haven't seen this from anyone who's actually clicked it yet. Just be careful and never open a file like that, 'cause people suck.

recently my friend's comics professor told her that it's acceptable to use gen AI for script-writing but not for art, since a machine can't generate meaningful artistic work. meanwhile, my sister's screenwriting professor said that they can use gen AI for concept art and visualization, but that it won't be able to generate a script that's any good. and at my job, it seems like each department says that AI can be useful in every field except the one that they know best.

It's only ever the jobs we're unfamiliar with that we assume can be replaced with automation. The more attuned we are with certain processes, crafts, and occupations, the more we realize that gen AI will never be able to provide a suitable replacement. The case for its existence lies on our ignorance of the work and skill required to do everything we don't.

money is tight and will unfortunately Continue To Be as i have taken a pay cut in order to work a job that aligns with my values and longterm goals because #capitalismsucks so i would really love to pick up some comissions!!

full transparency, i will likely be raising my commission prices in coming months so if you want a commission from me at these (very reasonable!) rates-- the sooner the better! will also probably try and set up a patreon and move to some other platforms besides tumblr, but with my adhd that is not happening anytime Super soon + i will update here when/if i do make those moves :-)

(that said: times are ofc very tight and there are plenty of more worthwhile places for your money to be going. i am not in crisis, i have a home and a full-time job, but i would greatly appreciate having some additional income + would love the external pressure to do some more digital art <3)
