From June 13 through June 21, eligible voters in Assembly District 36, including Astoria and parts of Long Island City, can use this location for early voting.

Joseph H. “Joe” Nadel (1892–1950) was born in NYC tenement streets and ended up helping shape Hollywood’s Golden Age: not as a star, but as the steady backbone behind the camera.

He started in the mid‑1910s as a property man, then climbed his way up to production manager and associate producer. His work runs through films like The Flying Deuces, And Then There Were None, A Walk in the Sun, D.O.A., and The Jackie Robinson Story.

In the 1930s, he kept Mae West’s sets on track, balancing her huge star power with the realities of budgets and schedules. Off set, he was a Mason, a dedicated community volunteer, and a family man at 307 North Citrus Avenue in Los Angeles.

Joseph H. Nadel is one of those names you almost miss in the credits; but without people like him, the classics wouldn’t exist.
