@astorics-blog
astoria wiped away a tear, as the fatigue wearing down her body, forced her to take a break. she hadnāt slept at all and leaned back at the cold wall of the castle , closing her eyes as she recalled the very moment when mcgonagall was standing in front of the crowd of students , announcing harry potterās death. since then, astoria could only recall snippets of the past hours. she knew she was passing by a crowd of grieving and shouting people. --Ā calm and collected andĀ Ā feeling absolutely nothing. the only thing she knew was that she had to find her sister. and she had looked for her. until now. -- now she was just alone, forced to deal with a plethora of feelings , even she couldnāt articulate herself. she was angry and shocked and sad and with all that a certain hopelessness had descended on her. but with no one to talk to except for her sister, ( who was nowhere to be found ), astoria was left alone with a bundle of useless feelings. and she had almost given up. Ā but Ā her eyes fluttered open again, of a e swift breeze passing over her.Ā ā hey !Ā ā she shouted, following the other and grabbing them by their arm.Ā ā please help me find my sisterĀ . ā she pleaded, her voice coloured with desperation.

āRed hair looks nice on you,ā Luna smiled. She tilted her head at the request, and then beamed, straightening her posture.Ā āYou want to paint me?ā Luna wasnāt sure she would be very good at staying still for that long - she was, presently, twirling around out of the happiness of being chosen for this job - but then she remembered that the painting wouldnāt have to be still.
Astoria had been in Lunaās year and house forever, but this may have been the very first actual conversation between the two, which Luna found sad and happy at the same time.Ā
āDo you think you could paint me twirling?ā she asked.
ā oh.Ā ā she ran her hand through her hair, feeling the still wet paint on her finger.Ā ā youāre sweet, but i think i rather look like a mess something my mother would kill me for . ā astoria let out a short laugh, wiping her hands off on her robe. although she was joking, some part of her knew that her mother wouldnāt be too pleased with her daughter now.Ā ā i would love to , luna , you are looking especially lovely today and it would be a waste to let you go like this.Ā ā astoria had always been fascinated with the ravenclaw. but back then she did not have the guts to talk to her, the pressure on pretending to be just like the rest of her friends was a burden she wanted to carry, not realizing that she was wasting her time.Ā ā it would be difficult, but i can try it , but iām not very good at painting people.ā she admitted a little embarassed.Ā ā but standing still would isnāt something you would like to do, or am i wrong ?ā
jamcsii.
jamey felt like all heād been doing lately was staring. but what exactly was he supposed to do when he was basically staring at people who had either been dead for years or who were much younger than he knew them to be. this time heād been staring not because he knew her but because she looked familiar and jamey knew that he had a name to go with that face somewhere in his head. so yeah heād been staring at her for the past few minutes not really paying attention to what exactly was happening more trying to dig for a name to match the face. and then jamey found himself the subject of her stare. he couldnāt quite tell what it meant. maybe she was offended by his staring? but no she seemd to recover after a moment.Ā āi guessā¦sure.ā he responded after a little pause of his own.Ā āiām sorry you just look like someone i know.ā or maybe she was someone he knew, with the way that things were going he wouldnāt be surprised.
ā perfect. ā a faint smile twitched on her lips, then pushing the obviously confused boy, slightly to the right, so the warm rays of the sun would hit his face. examining him for another moment , her eyes gleamed as she had found some sort of treasure. seconds later astoria strode back to the canvas, splashing some white paint on it , a desperate attempt to save the mess. Ā ā hmm ?ā the brunette halted as she drew her brows together, looking up as he talked to her. Ā Ā ā well, my sister daphne greengrass is actually in the same year as you, maybe youāve seen me hang around with her.ā of course, harry potter, wouldnāt know her , after all she was first) a year below him and second) a slytherin as well.Ā ā could you move your head slightly .-ā the brunette instructed, her eyes fixed on the canvas again, as she moved the brush.Ā ā anyway, iām rather surprised that you would confus me with my sister, when most of the people say we hardly look alike ... ā the slytherin wondered.Ā ā but i should properly introduce myself then, right ? iām astoria greengrass but thereās no need for me to ask for your name, harry potter ?Ā ā

āmalfoy. weāre not in first name bases, you and i.ā it was as clear as water; she hated his guts because he used to be a death eater and he didnāt like her simply based on that. why would he bother with someone that already made up their mind about him without actually bothering to get to know him? most people were like that, which was why he shut most people out. he was good just being around the few people that he genuinely liked. her sister was one of those and he always tried to be nice to her, but why be nice to someone why doesnāt do you the same favor?Ā āyes, thatās it. i must not know the difference between the blonde that i spent half of my life being friends with and her annoying snobbish little sister.ā sarcasm clearly present, he took a second just to look at her sarcastically as well and roll his eyes.Ā āi see daphne is the smart one.ā he wasnāt wrong, as it turned out, because she was so stupid not to believe him. he generally believed he was surrounded by idiots, but never had it been so true until today. people refusing to believe what was going seemed to live theĀ āignorance is blissā theory, but that would fail them soon enough. astoria greengrass, however, was aiming for a whole other level of that.Ā ālittle greengrass, i wouldnāt bother with you if this wasnāt true. i donāt do stupid and chidlish jokes.ā and if he did she wouldnāt have been his victim, clearly.Ā āi donāt like this situation either. you donāt want to get married to me, but i didnāt even want to get married to begin with.ā he rolled his eyes when she felt the need to mock her own sonās name.Ā ācute. why donāt you tell that to scorpius when you meet him? heāll forever be disappointed that youāre not the loving and caring mother he thinks you are.ā
it appeared rather odd to her that the boy who claimed to be her some-sort-of-future-husband and apparently the father of her child, demanded her to call him by his last name. probably another proof that he was lying to her. but why did she care anyway ? he did not seem to be fond of her and she could only return him the favour. although she did not know draco malfoy too well, she knew that it it were people like him she wanted to avoid,Ā it were people like him who were responsible for the deaths of million and it was because of people like him that she lost her best friend. and still, she couldnāt help but wonder how someone , barely an adult, Ā could have made the decision to become a death eater himself.Ā ā snobbish ?ā astoria quirked a brow, surpressing another laugh. she had been called many things, varying from being too sensitive toĀ ābeing some kind of a worse version of daphne greengrass ā but draco malfoy was the very first to call her snobbish. how often her mother had told her to held her head a little higher and to be less soft , less forgiving ? ( well at least she would be less forgiving for now ) Ā but apparently according to malfoy she must had been snobbish all the time and her mother turned out to be wrong. astoria rolled her eyes ( another very unastoria-like thing , but draco malfoy somehow managed to get on her nerves)Ā ā if she were that smart, she wouldnāt hang out with scu -Ā ā astoria cleared her throat. she wouldnāt stoop to his level and insult someone she barely knew.Ā ā people like you, draco malfoy.ā
Ā astoria heaved a long sigh, her arms falling next to her sides as she stopped painting ( although scraching the canvas was not something one would call painting. ) since the war, never she had felt so helpless as in this moment.Ā ā youāre right, youāre doing far more cruel things than simply childish and stupid jokes.Ā ā she muttered under her breath, considering the fact that he wasnāt telling her a lie . even though draco malfoy was cruel in her eyes, right now she was indeed behaving like a child. but she had no control over herself.Ā ā well, if you didnāt want to get married and i didnāt want to get married to you, it must have been an arranged marriage, right ? so maybe thereās some way out of this .. ā but why would she allow that? no, Ā she would never do that, but truly loving someone like draco malfoy or actually obeying her parents appeared to be both very unrealistic.Ā ā i -.ā Ā astoria paused, just realising now, Ā that if people from different generations, were walking around here, it was very likely to run into her son. but if there life in few year were miserable, would their son Ā also be miserable. he wouldnāt deserve that . and the truth was she wouldnāt be a better parent than draco malfoy.Ā Ā ā first why do people always assume iām lovely and caring ?ā she was maybe nicer than most of the greengrasses, but since the war she hadnāt felt particularly lovely.Ā ā and how would you know what he thinks of me , malfoy ?ā

Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā if there was ever a place where alice could relax it was the castle grounds, there was nothing that compared to the feeling of being outdoors a sense of freedom accompanied it one that she couldnāt exactly explain besides the fresh air might do her head some good. she did after all have a massive migraine and she was sure that the new circumstances she found herself in had a lot to do with it. but she was alice and because of it sheād attempt to do what she did best and that was smile her way through it. nothing was better or simpler than a smile, that much she had always known so strolling through the grounds with a book in hand the raven haired gryffindor was looking for a place to settle down when she spotted someone painting and that peaked her interest. sheād been watching the unfamiliar girl for a few minutes now.Ā
if only to figure out what she was painting unaware of the fact that sheād been spotted so when she was addressed well she jumped slightly.Ā ā bollocks, iām sorry.Ā ā she replied with a sheepish grin.Ā ā i hadnāt meant to spy.. i was in fact looking for my old reading spot but it seems that it might have disappeared.Ā ā then again that shouldnāt be a surprise right? it had been years this was as professor flint stated 1999.Ā ā and i doubt iād be much of a muse, iāll more than likely talk your ears off and youāll be begging me to leave.Ā ā she rambled on before chuckling as she realized that she had in fact just done that very thing. Ā āiām alice by the way⦠alice fortescue figured i should start there.Ā ā
ā no, no don't apologize ! ā she insisted, a faint edge of Ā panic in her tone. astoria did not mean to come off as angry or even rude but the thought of people watching her draw was just so odd , it made her uncomfortable. unlike most of the artists, astoria hadnāt draw for too long. while she had a knack for drawing, her technique wasnāt the best and there would be a lot she had to perfect. Ā no, she was in no way one of these kids who would have started at Ā the young age of three and in addition to that were gifted with some artistic talent. the girl had to work hard. but for now it didnāt matter to her. for astoria painting could be compared to some sort of therapy, a way to process and project her feelings right on the canvas. and showing someone, a complete stranger, Ā her painting was like handing her her diary with all her secrets. Ā
silence. astoria cleared her throat and took another glimpse at the raven haired girl. with no doubt the face had some features she was familiar with, but judging the whole picture astoria couldnāt recall any moment where she had actually met her.Ā ā oh . ā she quirked a brow as she caught herself staring at the girl too long.Ā ā a reading spot...Ā ā she murmured.Ā āiām not sure but based on my knowledge as a hogwarts student who has spent seven years here, i doubt i have ever seen someone read here... or...Ā ā her eyes travelled skyward, searching for something.Ā ā hmm, but my mother told me she loved to read here.ā at the mention of her mother, her expression darkened, but was quickly replaced by a smile again.Ā ā i donāt mind listening, i havenāt really talked to anyone since. the thing ... iām sure you know what iām talking about Ā -ā a pause.Ā ā yeah ... anyway, alice fortescue, itās nice to meet you. iām astoria greengrass and i would love you to be my muse, you somehow have that lovely vintage vibe .-ā
i feel heavy. heavy hearted, heavy handed, heavy footed. like thereās this great big weight.Ā on my chest or on my shoulders, or somewhere in between. there are good kinds of weight in your body. a heart made of gold.Ā a brain full of dreams. a throat full of laughter. and there are bad kinds of weight. shoes of lead. eyes that are tired. hands so full you can barely pick them up. i will not tell you what kind of weight i carry. but it is heavy. but it breaks my back.
atlas, tell me how you held up the world. i can barely hold up myself. // 12:06 AMĀ (via kittysong)

he was looking for - this was a first - astoria greengrass. for the past seven years he had referred to her asĀ ālittle greengrassā because he couldnāt remember her name, or maybe he just didnāt bother to care. daphne was one of his closest friends, though, so the past year he finally put in some effort and realized thatĀ ālittle greengrassā did in fact have a first name. and apparently she was painting, as he recognized the dark head of hair from a distance. he didnāt want to do this, but unfortunately he was decent enough to tell her himself what he just heard. he decided to wait it out until she was done painting ( well, splashing colors on paper couldnāt be called painting ) to try to be nice when she spotted him herself.Ā āvery,ā was his reply, not bothering with a sarcastic undertone.Ā āiām not here to help you, greengrass. we have a problem.ā he fixed his slytherin scarf and studied her momentarily. āwe have a son together. his name is scorpius. apparently we got married sometime after we both graduated.ā he paused, shook his head and sighed.Ā āi wish i was kidding, but iām not. so before you run into him i figured you should know.ā
astoria greengrass did not expect draco malfoy to be at a place such as this but it was the latter he told her that shook her to her core. he either was awfully intoxicated at this early hour of the day or someone must have had hexed him, because not Ā even in some preposterous dream , draco malfoy and astoria greengrass could have been married nor would have a bloody child with the ridicilous name scorpius malfoy. she almost laughed but the dead serious expression on his face forced her to maintain a neutral face. Ā she ran her fingers through her hair streaked with red paint. Ā ( her mother would have decapitated her for looking like a mess, but astoria couldnāt care less about it) Ā ā malfoy.ā she said now with a rather unamused expression, her brows furrowed.Ā ā or draco ,Ā i donāt know.ā she hesitated, how to call him. after all she did not know him at all. it was her sister daphne who was rather fond of him, something astoria could never relate to, but it didnāt matter to her since she had no intention to get to know him better. no ,Ā astoria wasnāt someone to judge quickly, but if she allowed someone like draco malfoy toĀ mess with her life, it would make it impossibe for her to change.( Ā as if she didnāt struggle enough ).Ā āyou must confuse me with my sister, daphne.Ā ā the girl continued, struggling to keep her cool . the thought of having a child with draco malfoy terrified her to the bones , and the only explanation for his words being true, could only mean some sort of arranged marriage, something she loathed and wouldnāt let happen to her. Ā returning to the canvas, she now added some green to the painting, but instead of graceful strokes her brush scratched against the canvas. Ā ā listen, draco- or malfoy, next time youāre lying to me you should come up with a better lie, like telling me that you met some younger version of my mother, i would believe that, really. but i highly doubt that we would ever be married, i donāt even know if weāve ever talked !ā at this point she was rather rambling, words unable to escape her lips. if she didnāt know better, she would have almost believe that she was panicking.Ā ā and i would never call my son scorpius, it sounds ridicilous, really, so please tell me you were simply joking and there might be the faintest possibilty that iāll forget about it and not splash paint on your face?ā
splashing red paint on the canvas, threw the brush at the ground , letting out a long and frustrated sigh. her hair was dripping with red paint now and the ravenclaw stood in front of the ruined painting, with her arms crossed waiting for inspiration striking her. nonsense.Ā Ā minutes passed and her mind was still blank, Ā leaving her with only two options. one: she would simply go back inside and spend the rest of the day doing nothing or she would ask someone to at least pose for a portrait. however, the latter option appeared to be rather unrealistic, because (truth to be told) astoria greengrass was pretty friendless, since she had decided to cut off ties with her old life (including her old friends) in order become a better person. thatās why she decided to return . Ā she turned around and for the first time noticed that someone had been watching her the whole time. for some odd reason, thethought that someone was observing her all the time, seeing her behaving in a very āunAstoria-likeā way (whatever it was) without uttering deeply bothered . Ā for moment she said nothing, simply staring at the other, with light dancing in the eyes of the other and as she was watching them a small smile tugged at her lips and astoria decided to pick up the brush again. Ā ā i guess watching me was pretty amusing. in return i expect you to be my muse for today, okay ? ā
bonjour beans ! i'm freya and this is astoria . itās actually my first time playing her so i hope i do her justice ! Ā iām still in the process of trying to figure her out ( coughs what a loser ) but iām always open for plots and you can hmu whenever you want. i donāt care about having multiply threads going on srsly ( tries to be cool and uses abreviations ) !! just tell me ( scream at me i donāt mind haha )if you have some cool plot in your mind and 99,9% i will be down for it ! anyway under the cut youāll find some basics iāve managed to come up with so far . i also have a plot/connection page to make plotting easier , so if youāre interested in plotting just hmu or like this post and i will jump into your im <3 Ā

ā³The Greengrasses are known to have espoused the philosophy of Pure-blood supremacy, even though, following the horrors of the Second Wizarding War, Astoria Greengrass abandoned those beliefs in favour of a more tolerant world view and even refused to raise her son to believe that āMuggles are scumā even though that created tension with her parents-in-law, Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy.
