So coco being the first Disney world shown off to us for Kh 4 makes me feel it’s very likely Sora doesn’t remember Riku and that the heart songs are gonna come up again and that’s going to be key to jogging Sora’s memory because music and memory are important themes for that movie but I have another less likely theory but I would lose my shit if it were correct. Again based on the themes of coco it’s possible Sora might remember Riku but only as he is in kh1 aka as his sort of enemy and part of the game would be Sora slowly regaining his memories gradually.

If that is the case I would speculate a lot of the worlds will tie into themes of forgiveness and striving to achieve one’s dreams bc of the melody of memory ending where Riku is told his dreams will help him find Sora

another funny KH story! so a month or so ago, I was hanging out with my parents for a video game night when my dad got to the Notre Dame world in DDD. my mom was playing Sims 4, but when the conversation between Riku and the others happened (the one about walls around your heart), she paused her game, watched the rest of the scene with my dad and I, and then proceeded to say "I don't think that boy is heterosexual."

needless to say, Riku is so gay even my mother clocked it after witnessing exactly one scene in the series. lmao
