he was one of the most riveting, deeply complex characters of the season. he was broken, and a boy who fucked up his life bc of his past. im lucky to have loved him so much thru s2 and s3. billy rlly taught me, as a writer, how important characterisation is

Agreed. When I heard that it was his idea to have that scene with his father in season 2, I’ve got confused and also disappointed in the Duffers. They really just wanted a Flat Bully character to replace Steve. In season 3, even with the flashbacks and stuff, his character just seemed like a tagged on afterthought.
