POV: you are Will Graham and every man wants to rail you
.. I worship you. I'd trade my life for yours. We'll make them disappear. We'll plant our garden here...
I'm actually surprised that the script for Digestivo called for Hannibal to carry Will over his shoulder.
It would have been such a missed opportunity to not parallel Anthony Hopkins' portrayal and connect this version of Hannibal (at least pay visual homage) to its history.
Not to mention lose the opportunity to shamelessly cast the male lead in a stereotypical femme fatale scenario. This scene is just one of many in Hannibal where they completely subvert gendered expectations.
Also? It aligns Hannibal with a rich history of classic monsters.

The Mummy:
As a massive monster fan and old film geek, this makes me extremely happy.
It’s nice when someone sees us, Hannibal. Or has the ability to see us. It requires trust. Trust is difficult for you.
