i made a post like this before but I can't find it now. so. I'll just redo it.
What's the first "big news story" you remember from when you were a kid?
It's something I love to ask mixed-aged groups sometimes because I think it's really interesting to see the responses. I've gotten answers from the Olympics of [whatever year] to Watergate to more recent stuff from my niblings.
My first news thing I remember is the OJ Simpson trial. I vaguely remember watching the news with my grandparents before that, but that's the first story I remember, in part because my second grade teacher had us go play so she could watch the verdict š
I remember walking down the street and seeing a sign protesting George W. Bushās war on Iraq, so I think that.
I don't know about a news story, but my first "political" memory was something about the torture memos
The Muppet Movie (1979) dir. James Frawley

people born in 2000 should be like 12-14 now. but theyāre not. thatās how fucked up our world is now
The older this post gets the funnier it becomes
My cousin born in 2000 is a licensed psychologist.
thatās how fucked up our world is now
Their cousin might be able to help with that.

The Longer Martin procrastinates the funnier this gets.
āThe Odyessey left out the Nobody scene so it sucksā a lot of you ruined the vibe with a terrible pun and never learned not to do that again, and it shows
wish there was a way to be like, hey I didn't want to pay for your streaming service subscription for this show so I watched it free on a shady pirate streaming site, I liked it so here's a one time payment of ten bucks, consider making a season two (which I'll also be watching free on a shady pirate site)
We used to call this "buying DVDs."
Christopher Nolan has definitely seen Spirited Away and āJurassic Barkā from Futurama. Ball knower.
