also in accordance to my recent reblog, please for the love of GOD leave a reply under a small writer’s work. i swear it’ll make their day— you don’t have to say much, really!! a simple ‘THIS IS SO GOOD!’ or even a KEYSMASH would do. you can even reblog it and add what you liked about the fic in the tags. as a small writer myself (tbh idek if im still considered small but i don’t wanna get too ahead of myself ✋😔) i appreciate whatever people have to say because that just shows that they actually read the things i write, whether it took me thirty minutes or 2 hours to complete the piece. so yes, basically, reactions. these are the reactions you can start with and REMEMBER to always support the small writers and the writers who are still new to this environment!!!!! just because you’ve never seen them before or just because their works usually get an insignificant number of notes doesn’t make the things they give out any less worth your time. thank you for listening 😄💘
this shit is really important for blogs of any size. even if we don’t always respond, I can promise you, we all read every comment, every tag on a reblog, even every message you send. it doesn’t matter what it is, it’s something. the numbers down at the bottom of our posts mean nothing to us, it could just mean that you saw it for all we know. please please please let writers know if you like their works!! and if you don’t, don’t be a bitch about it! give them constructive criticism, not a “you’re a horrible writer!” every small thing matters and means the world to us. sometimes it’s hard to find motivation if we don’t see comments or reblogs or anything of the sort. even a small ask in our ask box saying “hey i love your works!!!” is SOMETHING!! we don’t need much, i swear, but we need something. that being said i’m gonna make a new blog for the sole point of reblogging fanfics I recommend. it’ll be a mix of gender neutral reader, male reader, and (on occasion) female reader. it’ll have smut, it’ll have fluff, it’ll have angst, just because I want other authors to know they’re doing great work. even myself, I don’t even hype other authors up enough, but now ima try my best. ty for coming to my ted talk, i’ll tag my new blog when I make it

Fanfiction is not free. Writers put in crazy hours and effort into every post - plots, outlines, characterisation, editing, everything. Sure, we do it because we want to, but our enthusiasm cannot be one sided.
All of writer Stayblr will tell you this, but smut Stayblr has it the worst. I’ll say it : you guys are here just for the fucks.
Show us that you’re reading our work, at least. Our follower counts hit wild numbers, but we struggle to hit 30 notes on fics. Fuck, if you like it and have a rec blog, reblog it. Please reblog. And if you reblog, please tell us how you like it in the tags. Give us reactions - in the tags, in the comments, in the reblogs, in our asks, anything. We can’t write 10 fics a month when we don’t even know if you enjoy our work.
Give us reactions; is that too much to ask? Fuck, we shouldn’t have to beg for it like this.
Our inboxes are open all day - I know a lot of us seem too intimidating to send casual asks and that’s alright - but there’s not a single ask telling us they liked/disliked a fic. Feedback is important. Reactions are important. Numbers on Tumblr stats don’t matter as much.
But nope. You don’t bother unless we’re opening requests, and then there’s 20 asks within an hour. It’s almost as though - gasp - you don’t care about us as writers, you’re just here to get off to your pretty idols.
There’s nothing in our inboxes unless it’s request season, but what happens when we write those requests? How many of you drop back in to tell us you liked what you requested? Or didn’t like what you requested? Fuck that, how many of you ask politely when you request? How many of you drop in a ‘thank you’ after your request is written?
Hell, we’re here just to write fucks as well. But if you don’t care about authors unless your neglect has driven them to deactivate, that’s when you come in with asks telling us our writing isn’t as crappy as your silence makes us think it is.
And the worst part of it is so many authors fall for that shit, they come back and feed you fucks you don’t deserve and then you stop caring once again until they’re determined to stop writing for good.
Please, for fuck’s sake - give us reactions. If you think a fic is bad or good, if the fic made you feel some particular way. Tell us.
We don’t care about four digit follower counts, we care about that screaming in the tags, the asks telling us what you liked about our fics.
You can’t treat us this way and then complain your dash is going dry.
Reactions matter.
