I know Runa and a few other characters are LGBT, but how accepted are they in society? Also, has your story changed a lot since you first started writing?

In general, in the human kingdoms, being LGBT isn’t accepted. In Aegea, which is based off Ancient Greece, it’s more accepted, and in Cyriaca it’s considered a quirk of personality. But Niraelle, Reve, and Ilesia aren’t accepting at all. Runa especially will have to deal with this as royalty and even more so when she becomes queen. She has to deal with a lot of pressure regarding marriage and producing an heir. 

The non-human kingdoms, such as Aleratha (elves) and Osova (dwarves) are a lot more chill. In fact, in Aleratha, it’s widely accepted and as common as heterosexuality. Even polyamorous relationships are accepted. Marriage is also a lot different for the elves. As for Osova and the dwarves, they’re in the process of adjusting their mindsets and accepting new ways. They made be hard set in old traditions, but they are trying to be more accepting of differences among their people. You can thank Dagny for that. “People are gay, Harold.” 

Yes and no? Some aspects have changed drastically, while others haven’t. For instance, Eirian’s characterization is nowhere close to what I originally intended and some of the characters’ actions have altered my future plans slightly. But in the grand scheme of the plot, nothing has really changed.

for the most part, yes

it depends on the situation

she will get into a fight on the streets

4. has anything happened to them on the streets?

nothing particularly noteworthy. yet

5. are they cautious when out?

depends on her mood and current situation 

T: Truth

1. are they honest?

yep! for the most part. she doesn’t like lying

2. can they tell if someone is lying?

depends on the person. sometimes she can, sometimes she can’t

3. is it obvious when they’re lying?

it depends on what she’s lying about. if it’s about her feelings? yeah, it’s INSANELY obvious

4. have they lied about anything they regret lying about?

not yet

5. have they told truths that have been spread against their will?

maybe someday

ha! what are rules?

she’d be pretty chill

Runa’s pretty okay with rules. laws in general are good for the people. but she won’t follow anything that would hurt others or hinder something she wants to do for good

she’s a big ass lesbian

she’s still kinda questioning it

3. have they ever questioned their gender?

not really

4. would/was their family be okay with them being LGBT?

her family never really got the chance to find out. but i can say that her father wouldn’t give a shit

5. how long would/did it take for them to come out?

oh honey she’s not even out yet. well, she kind of is, but not officially. only to a select people. but she hasn’t actually said she’s a lesbian

D: Decoration

1. how would they decorate a house if they had one under their name?

lots of black. furs. maybe some animal heads, but only of bears or other carnivores. classy but still homey

2. how would they decorate their child’s room?

well definitely not with black. honestly she’d like her kid pick what they wanted 

3. how do they decorate their own room?

you know i’ll get back to you on that once she actually has her own room in TDI

4. what type of clothes and accessories do they wear?

practical but fashionable. she likes wearing dresses but they’re rarely practical so she tends to stick to tunics and trousers. also she loves boots 

5. do they like makeup/nail/beauty trends?

when Runa discovers the nobiltiy’s trends? oh hell no

A: Aptitude

1. what are your oc’s natural abilities, things they’ve been doing since young?

Runa is a prodigy in archery! she’s been practicing since she was like 3 tbh

she’s also very good at acrobatics and being sneaky. she used to steal cookies out of the cookie jar all the time

2. what activities have they participated in?

archery, swordsmanship, hunting, general wild child activities 

3. what abilities do they have that they’ve worked for?

swordsmanship! she’s worked her butt off to get decent at it

4. what things are they bad at?

also swordsmanship. melee is just not her strong suit 

5. what is their most impressive talent?

turning into a dragon archery by far!

C: Comfort

1. how do they sit in a chair?

usually with her knees pulled up. though sometimes she just lays across it

2. in what position do they sleep?

she likes to curl up with Fenrir!!

3. what is their ideal comfort day?

going out hunting with Fenrir and being away from people

4. what is their major comfort food? why?

hot chocolate! it’s warm, sweet, and it reminds her of her days as a child before everything went to hell

5. who is the best at comforting them when down?

Fenrir or Shevon

pretty much! Runa’s an open book

2. do they do things that conform to the norm?

depends. this is something she has to overcome in TDI

she does her own thing

there ain’t no wi-fi in the 16th century

5. do they portray their personality intentionally or let people figure it out on their own?

Runa doesn’t really do anything intentionally. she just kinda… wears her heart on her sleeve

sometimes! Eirian has a variety of masks she adopts according to the situation. but her true nature is cunning, mischievous, and very secretive.

nah son, Eirian doesn’t like conforming to anything

nope, Eirian just does her own thing

what’s internet? internet doesn’t exist unfortunately

she very much lets people figure it out on their own. Eirian is very secretive and doesn’t let many people see her true self. the most anyone will see of her true personality is her mischievousness

unfortunately. she’s dealt with her fair share of racists

probably. i doubt it ended well for the bully
