Watching Itâs Always Sunny in Philadelphia has been surprisingly healing for me. I was pretty young when it came out but it was always in the background of pop culture, so i was familiar with it, but hadnât seen it for myself.
Then, when i was old enough to watch it and had people recommend it or just heard people reference the show, i adamantly refused because i was so jaded by men at a very early age due to some rather horrific personal experiences, especially that sort of straight âbroâ culture- like american pie, the hangover, horrible bosses- that seemed to celebrate people just acting moronic and rude and misogynistic. That style of humor always seemed to me to have a power imbalance- the joke was always at someones expense and naturally, as someone who was abused by these type of men making the jokes, i identified with the feeling of powerlessness more than i saw it as a joke.
And since iâd only seen clips of IASIP i figured they were just a bunch of assholes and haha isnât it funny to watch people be mean to each other for no goddamn reason?? Iâll admit, i was on a bit of a high horse, and my anger towards men tended to put anything that was advertised towards them as morally wrong.
Now, Iâm finally exploring these spaces that seemed inherently male dominated because, well, i grew up, and i realized if i was going to criticize something, i should have a better understanding of why i was criticizing it. So, when my friend recommended IASIP a while back, i finally decided to check it out.
and it was nothing at all like i thought it was. Yes, these characters are assholes, and usually the joke is at the expense of someone (omg poor cricket), but what makes it stand out is that these assholes are their own worst enemies. This isnât a show celebrating the act of being an asshole, it insists you laugh at them and their absurdity instead.
But also, itâs just so silly and ridiculous sometimes- which is not at all the humor i expected from them. At some points, they are straight up cartoonish and theres a healthy distance between reality and their behavior, while at the same time, these characters have such sad backgrounds that there is a certain level of recognizable humanity that makes you understand their behavior while not excusing it. Dee for example, grew up in a family where she was the damaged black sheep. No one loved her, in fact, she was straight up abused, but naturally, she was desperate to fit in and that became a key character trait. Dee needs to be liked, she needs attention, because she never got it growing up. Her motivation is relatable, even if her actions arenât. Which is pretty much the premise of the show. Find a recognizable frustration and motivation and then have these extreme characters attempt to fix it through the most outlandish way.
I was (happily) very wrong about this show. I donât think i can even classify it along with the likes of american pie etc. Im only sad that it took me so long to get into it, especially when theyâre talking about possibly ending it next season. Iâd watch the show until they were as old as Danny Devito and became a bunch of bickering old people swatting their canes at each other.
This is the hardest shit I've ever seen I'm shaking

was messing around in blog design..
week of 9/28/25 - been spinning some Chat Pile lately. last thursday i listened to another album of theirs called âGodâs Countryâ. 9 tracks, with the last about 9 minutes in track duration. sounded disgusting and raw, like the sight of maggots & flies over some poor opossumâs body (this means it sounds really good). the tracks âPamelaâ (3rd) and âI Donât Care if I Burnâ (8th) are the ones that stand out the most to me.
Every track is super raw, but âPamelaâ takes me to a place. If I had the vocabulary, iâd describe it in great detail, but the best I can say is that it sounds like what horror movies feel like to me. i donât watch much horror movies so itâs a whole other world iâm not used to. when i do, i feel everything that they have to offer. great writing. i read a youtube comment that said the songâs about the 1st Friday the 13th. though i havenât watched the movies at all, I get the gist of the franchise. i agree with that youtube comment. âPamelaâ seems to be written from the perspective of Michael Myersâ father. Michaelâs death haunts the mind of his father, so he resurrects Michael in the conclusion. the song is great, amazing vocal delivery from Raygun Busch.
âI Donât Care if I Burnâ. not a lot going on instrumentally, just footsteps to keep tempo & cracks of fire i assume. very quiet track. iâm gonna bring back the âhorror movie thingâ here and say that they nailed it at building the atmosphere. i remember Busch screaming at some part in the song, so I was waiting for that, and the creeping feeling that itâs coming up soonâŚ..yes, man. its like walking down some dark long ass hallway expecting something to just get youâŚhad me on the edge of my seat, my heart beat rate picked up. its the intro to âgrimace_smoking_weed_.jpegâ and fits exactly where it should be.
Chat Pileâs âGodâs Countryâ is called a sludge metal/noise rock/whatever else album. itâs dark & heavy. its disgusting. itâs Chat Pile, and itâs terribly good.
apologies for the opossum line, it may have been unnecessarily described. i wrote for an hour in the deep of night because Chat Pile is that good.
oki bye bye :DÂ
[ 9/28/25 , ??? hours ]
i read a youtube comment that said this song was about the 1st Friday the 13th, and yeah, agreed.
a very haunting track. amazing vocal delivery from raygun busch.
i just like busch's voice in general. i want to gain the skills to fully explain/articulate how much i enjoy this track. the best i can get it at is : the guitar pairs well with the vocals.
(one of) my favorites on the album. good job chat pile =)

Notecard drawings from school! Landscapes and structures (mostly) are my strongsuit, but I'm slowly chipping away at these. I made some changes to the last one's drawing cause I didn't like how little trees there were and I did it without reference, more so focusing on the blend between lavender and barley fields
Reblogs appreciated!
As a rule of thumb, don't reblog donation posts or people asking for donations unless they've been vetted and reblogged by Palestinian bloggers. We usually go to lengths to verify this shit because we know scammers have been faking to get people to send them money, using the urgency of our genocide as bait.
It's disgusting this is what we're dealing with, but people are losing money because of some truly evil people out there.
Accounts don't just randomly spring up on tumblr without gofundmes while asking for someone to help them create a campaign. Fuck out of here with that shit.
I'm also gonna stop listing the reasons why I recognize something is a scam. It's becoming more and more clear there is 1 person behind this STRING of scams and they're leaving less trails behind but it still reeks of them and their MO.
DO NOT TRUST ANY GOFUNDME OR REQUEST FOR CROWDFUNDING THAT PALESTINIAN BLOGGERS HAVEN'T VERIFIED.
At this point I'm fine receiving a bunch of inbox messages asking me to vet x y z so y'all can avoid this shit. But please have some critical thinking!
People are exploiting our situation.
Reblog this post.
Whether you wanna read the whole thing or not idc.
REBLOG IT.
The person this was about deleted the 4th or 5th scam account they made and are definitely gonna make a new one soon. I don't want anybody falling for this anymore.
