I’m saying goodbye

(for a while at least.)

Hey all. 

It is with a wary and weary heart that I announce I’m going on a perhaps permanent hiatus from ATfC. I know this probably feels sudden, but believe me it’s been something I’ve been thinking about for the last year or so.

I have a lot of excuses that I’ve used to convince myself to make this decision: my full time job, my patreon, etc. but the truth is I’m tired of having to force myself to do it. I want to have the free time to draw more of what I want and the time that once went into ATfC has moved to doing other job-like things and if I want any free time at all I have to cut something out.

It's sad to see the comic go, but I understand the difficulty in keeping up with something like this. I'm grateful you made an official announcement at least, many webcomics don't. I was wondering if there was an existing archive (or plans for one if there isn't) of the original version of the comic? The remake is a lovely improvement, but I'd really hate to see the original lost or unavailable, especially the parts the new one didn't reach.

Yeah, I really didn’t want to keep pushing hiatus’ on you all and lying to myself - I thought it was better to tell the truth.

Right now there isn’t and there probably won’t be if I’m honest. There’s a lot of pages in the old version that have missing parts/dialogue now since its been so long since i drew them and uploading 100 pages somewhere for the few people who’d want to see them is a really big job.

Maybe someday I’ll put them up somewhere, but right now I have no plans to.

I just reread all of atfc, and hopefully you don't mind but I can't help but headcanon Saara as autistic. I myself am autistic and I see a lot of myself in her like her discomfort in Nera hugging her, her minimal emotions, etc

Whoa no i don’t mind!!! I’m glad that you relate to her!! :D

Generally any headcanon that doesn’t go directly against canon (like hc’ing trans characters as cis, gay characters as straight etc) is free reign ^^

Saara's panicked face in the newest update has me sobbing bc it's just "Oh my god?? She kissed?? My hand???? Is that normal??? I need adult?? 911 hello???" And honestly that's so relatable
