So I was trying to do the Pickman’s Gift quest some time ago and I discovered that Danse hated it when you helped him and accepted the key.

I’ve been wondering what he specifically hated about it. I am sure it was Pickman’s blatant disregard for human life as evidenced by his gallery and that the player basically helps out a deranged murderer, but…

I also think that it’s because Danse hates it when art, in general, is perverted and twisted from its purpose -  he comments on how the humanity has fallen when you go to the Combat zone, which is is the former Orpheum Theatre. Pickman’s art is a similar perversion as well.

Danse may not like comic books but he seems to have a taste or desire to experience art and literature -  I’ve quoted him before when he expresses a desire to listen to a performance a the Charles View Amphitheater,  the man actually reads and apparently   listens to the Charles River Trio…

I think him being a nerd for history facts goes deeper than it being just a hobby. I think he longs to experience something more - that isn’t just day to day survival in the Wasteland.
