its so funny/pos to look at people draw gutairs and ukuleles as an aspiring luthier. like ah. yes. guitar shape. yes. Especially because once upon a time i didnt know the intricacies of guitars and ukes so well and it’d just look like. blob. so to see someone who maybe (probably, but idk you lol ur a stranger on the interwebs who i like the art of) doesnt stare at string instruments for the majority of each day still draw them even as a doodle? idk probably seems like a small thing to most but it makes me happy :D

(ps head cannon that rumi has a few guitars that were custom made by a local luthier)

Tbh instruments in general are a huge pain to draw, I usually just draw over them from a picture but this makes me want to put more effort into it

Ok so I didn’t want to come across as weird, hence why I asked this anon (idk if what I meant would come across well cause I’m very much so neurodivergent and struggle with that stuff lmao) I purposely use luthier so people learn a new word :) plus it sounds cool. Did you know that once someone is a good enough luthier they become a MASTER? A MASTER LUTHIER??? I’d like that title please and thank you ✋.

To add to the head canon, there’s luthiers who will take wood that has somehow been preserved for THOUSANDS OF YEARS and make guitars out of that. Like wood from the time of the Ancient Greeks. Then just. Boom. Instrument. Rumi has one. Preferably wood from like give or take a few years from the lives of the first hunters. Within like 20 miles from where they lived too. Like the more specific the better.

I also head canon that she has managed to acquire at least two (2) guitars with a body made from Brazilian rosewood (look up the prices of just the wood for a jumpscare)

(If I could get my hands on a baritone ukulele with a spruce sound board, Brazilian rosewood back and sides and a maple neck, I would cry. Please universe. Please.)

Hi! Drummer here! I also love those woods! Hardwoods are great for any instrument. Maple drums are just SO GOOD, and I haven’t played any drums with Brazilian Rosewood but I’ve heard they’re great.

I’d say Rumi probably has a jarrah guitar, just for the fun of it. If any of her girls got into drumming *cough cough* Zoey *cough* she’d do something similar to the aged wood, or she’d just get them Bradys (THE Jarrah drum brand, love me some Bradys, a single snare can set you back like, 4k USD).

But yeah, they get only the best of the best and shrug it off when the price of good hardwoods rears its head.

maple is a staple in any acoustic branch of instruments fsfs. The uke that I’ve made uses maple for binding, bracing, the rosette, fret markers, and other detail work. I used black walnut for the body and neck to get as close to the rosewood tone I wanted lol.

100% on the guitar bit. She probably has a guitar made from most tone woods. Like ziricoti (how tf do you spell), moon ebony, insert type of rosewood here, ext….

and IM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO HC ZOEY AS A DRUMMER????? I’m not gonna say much cause idk that much about the drums but I hc her style to be a mix between Josh dun and Brett Kramer. She’s also mean on the uke. Just feels right.

my other hc is that Mira plays the bass. Started out on classical upright but went behind her parents back and got a jazzmaster or something. Slowly started getting basses that leaned more and more into the heavy metal sphere.

That is one hell of a kit. With Zoey being a hip hop head (that’s at least semi canon, right?) I can so see her having a nice crunchy sounding clap stack. Also dare I say a low tuned snare. Love me some low snare. Zoey imo was def a band kid in high school (I say as a band kid) and I can def see her on drumline or as a low brass. High brass and woodwind I can’t really see lol.

I agree with the bass except that it’s a five string but that’s just my opinion lol

RENEGADES TRILOGY (specifically 3rd book) SPOILERS AHEAD:

in both Renegades and Archenemies, the ‘cast of characters’ section at the very beginning had the exact same description for him (pic is from my personal copy of the series)

but in Supernova, he is the ONLY character in the list (I’m only counting from people who’s names have been present in all three books) who’s description changes into this:

“he is allegedly invincible” YOU CANT TELL ME THIS DOESNT SLIGHTLY TEASE THE OUTCOME OF HIS SECOND BATTLE WITH ACE bc I don’t see another reason as to why Marissa Meyer (author) would alter the description of HIS powers and not everyone else’s 🥀
