Making a very feeble attempt to get back into the swing of things so ah-- a couple of notes in regards to this blog.

x. James is, and will always be, canon-divergent. I’m fine roleplaying certain aspects of canon, but please understand that anything beyond V7 (unless stated otherwise) will not be portrayed on this blog. The mun really has not been vibing with the canon material, and that, alongside the hate James now receives, has made it incredibly hard to swing into roleplaying. Hoping to avoid that while going forward!

x. Anyone hoping (or trying) to spread hate as anonymous senders on this blog will find themselves blocked, and the inbox closed. Please keep this in mind! Spread love, not hate. Thank you.

x. This is a Pro-Ozpin blog. This is very important to me. I do understand that James has a lot of feelings about Ozpin. That they haven’t always agreed on everything together, and that not every feeling is positive, and that, likewise, Ozpin hasn’t always made the best choices, and for that, I am willing to roleplay discourse. But these types of threads need to be discussed beforehand. Do not throw my character into a position where suddenly, it’s “hating Ozpin hours.” You will find yourself soft blocked. Having mixed feelings and upsets, in regards to your own character about Ozpin, are an exception for obvious reasons.

x. James is the adoptive father of the Schneeblings. No official signed paperwork or anything, but this needs to be stated for the sole reason of saying: There will be no shipping of any of the Schneeblings with James. Please don’t bring it here. Ship whatever you want to ship, but keep it in your own lane!

x. This blog is multi-ship! Please, bring me all of the ships. Glynda? Ozpin? Qrow? Nera? James loves them all. 

x. James has problems, sure, but he is not a villain. If that is what you’re looking for here - you can find the exit. It is one of my biggest pet peeves about the series as a whole, and I’m not having it here on this blog. He is an antagonist, certainly, but this blog will focus much more heavily on his PTSD, paranoia, and fear. Please be sure to read the blog info before interacting!

x. Last, but not least, there will be zero tolerance for drama and/or negative behavior. I was real lenient beforehand, but if you’re trying to pick a fight about either my character portrayal or my expressed opinions, you will not receive a response; but you will find yourself blocked.

x. I will often reply to roleplays at work, and when this occurs, I’m unable to trim those posts. If this is something that bothers you, please block the tag:[ get to work ]

A small laugh leaves him. Gentle is the hand that wraps around Qrow’s wrist. “Mm...I’ve about reached my limit on behaving.”

“Oh yeah?” He glanced down between them, mischief sparkling in wine soaked eyes. Rose to meet deep pools of dark blues, suggestively.

“Mhm,” he moves a touch closer, hands finding themselves on the man’s hips; thumbs kneading into slender form. “And I have a feeling you will thoroughly enjoy it.”

“Hmm.” A quick glance at the door, and a tentative step forward is taken. “I have something new you can try for dessert.”

“Well, look at you,” Qrow remarked, glancing at the meeting room briefly himself, “I’m starting to think I might be a bad influence on you, General.”

“I’m having a hard time believing it’s taken you this long to realize that.” A pause given before he adds, “...I have dinner at home, if that tempts you.”

Pokemon Team! Because I wish to be cool, like all the cool kids.

Chesnaught is his absolute best friend. He grew up with him, and the two have been pretty much inseparable. Originally, he was to protect James at all costs, and stayed reliable on this front, but there were a handful of times that James returned the care and dedication. They’re equals and strive forward knowing this.

Ninetales was a gift, and one that he has thoroughly enjoyed pouring his heart into. Caring for and providing with proper love. Never knew her prior to her evolution, but makes her life the best and fullest compared to where she was before.

Delibird was chosen and nabbed because...look at him. He is holiday themed. James loves holidays. He loves sass. They were perfect for each other.

Larvitar was caught, originally, for the purpose of providing his team some more ‘type options,’ but she quickly won the Atlesian’s heart. So much so, that even as it refuses to evolve (for the sake of receiving more pets and attention for being ‘cute’ from its owner, of course) he can’t bring himself to try and push for the evolution. Tyranitar would be a wonderful asset to the team...but he can’t help spoiling Larvitar. Providing her with everything and anything she could ever need/want.

Metagross is a faithful companion. Enemies upon initial interaction, a Beldum with absolutely zero respect for the general, and even less love for him, they started out on thorns. The Pokemon was frustrated and annoyed, and James was persistent in trying to win it over. This only happens much later. When Beldum evvolves into Metang, causes destruction and chaos whenever freed from its ball, and then, matures into a Metagross who still doesn’t really like James. Puts up with the man for the sake of receiving attention. 

Sylveon was born and raised with James. Came to him via an egg, hatched in the safety of his home, and then given the love and dedication he carries to all aspects of his life. It was really no surprise that in the end, she evolved into a Sylveon, rather than the Espeon James was hoping for. Undeterred by her evolution, however, he accepts her with open arms and takes her to every social event he attends.

He looks the woman over quietly. Hears her upset and recognizes it. Certainly not something he could claim he understood fully, ‘blessed’ with being born of a race that wasn’t criticized, but he had dealt with his fair share of the issue at hand. Attempted to hire a number of Faunus and was turned down each and every time. Made to deal with Jacques Schnee’s bigotry time and time again, even after becoming Headmaster of the Atlesian school. Worked hard to ensure that any and all discriminators were properly taken care of.

Turning to look back at the party-goers himself, he can’t help but crack a smile. The people inside, with secrets and lives wrapped in conceit, were laughable. Acting as though they blessed the very ground that they walked on. The items they touched. In truth, James has always felt that they tainted any area they breathed in.

“Well,” he muses aloud, turning to look at the young woman. “If it’s any consolation, if the day ever comes where I’m granted the opportunity to punch him in the face, it might just take him out for the next several years.”

Speaking into his drink, he adds, “Or longer, if we’re lucky.”

James’ smile draws one of his own onto Clover’s face as a warm, but polite, laugh falls from his lips. He shakes his head and fixes the General with a stern teal gaze. 

“Don’t think you’re going to distract me,” he says. “You look like you’re about three seconds away from collapsing.” 

“And it most certainly was. Though, I don’t think hearing about my academy days would help your state right now.” 

Not that Clover was ashamed of his… misadventures as a student, but somethings were best not told to your former headmaster, and current boss. Days of causing trouble and studying long hours into the night were behind him, but what James didn’t know wouldn’t kill him. 

No truer words than those spoken from the other. He certainly felt as though he were about to pass out. Fall over right here, on the desk, and quite possibly never wake up again. 

A long sigh spills from his lungs as he runs a hand down his face. Leans back into his chair and lowers eyes to the paperwork strewn across his desk. Still so much do, never enough time in one day to finish it all, and yet...here he was. Caving to sleep and chided for doing so by one of his soldiers.

“I think I’d rather like a story or two,” sapphire orbs flick to the man beside him; a teasing smile on his lips. “Might make it easier to sleep, hm?”

His gift being accepted felt like victory. No matter what may have happened to bring about the silence between them, they weren’t too far gone for James to be plied with delicious beverages. It was the sign that he needed to know this would turn out well and Ozpin beamed at the soft little thanks he received in turn, the words far less important than the way they had been spoken. 

That said, a small amount of his prior awkwardness returned as James found his feet and it really dawned on Oz just how big the other had gotten. He’d been a tall, sturdy boy before of course, he simply seemed to have gotten larger in all aspects. Taller, stronger, overall more solid-looking in a way that made the former beanpole feel a little silly in how he’d grown into his shoulders and little else. It was something one expected but didn’t properly realize until it was standing about a head taller than them. 

Still, it was undeniably James and the smile hadn’t left his lips even as it became a little quirked with the question, a silent joke prefacing his own response. 

“The Council hasn’t found a way to murder me yet, so really I can’t complain. I trust that your shift into this position has been mostly painless?”

This was good, oh this was excellent. A magnificent way to break the ice as Oz turned to lead the other man into his own office, going around the desk to pluck up the cane he’d left leaning against the opposite side of it before vacating the space for its proper attendant. Best not to be too cheeky just yet. 

“You always seemed so much more prepared than I was.”

He finished with a light laugh, turning back to his companion to see if they would be sharing that nostalgia. 

Following after the man, a small scoff of amusement spilling from his lips, he sets his items atop his desk. Gives the man beside him a knowing look and pulls out a chair for the Headmaster. For the nuisance that has found his way into his office with nothing but secrets. Always a mysterious individual, really; laced in a sense of wonder that James couldn’t quite put his finger on. Even when they were younger, when times were so much simpler-- there was something that pulled James to him. What that could be, however...he never did quite find out.

“In regards to the Council, consider yourself fortunate.” He sighs aloud, rounding the desk and taking a seat into his chair. Reaches for his nearby mug of hot cocoa and pulls it close. “I have suspicions that they plan to kill me as slowly as possible for their own enjoyment.”

Thankful to be within the privacy of his own office, James wasn’t entirely certain he’d care if he spoke in such a way out in public. It certainly wasn’t something he made a point of hiding, not when Jacques Schnee was one such member present, but he did do his part to face niceties for the sake of some proper discussion. When there was proper discussion. No one quite knew how to get his temper roaring more than the Council as a collective. 

“And as for you,” at last, a smile pulls at his lips, hidden by the raised mug. “Between the two of us, someone had to be more prepared, and it certainly wasn’t the disaster of a human being that you are.”

A small hum of delight left him at the delicacy that was the hot cocoa. A craving met with one swallow of the sweet drink. Gods, how he missed this.

“Honestly, I’m surprised Beacon hasn’t fallen or burned down yet.”
