Driving through Bighorn on the way to Yellowstone. Loved the craggy almost Mayan temple looking mountain tops. Then out of that weaving road and eventually into Yellowstone just as the sun is setting. Capture some dusk and night photos getting excited for the next days explorations into this mighty park.
It's waterfall time again! This one was on my way to Yellowstone, drove through Bighorn National Park. Amazing drive, and them waterfalls🙌🏼 #bighornmountains #gonechasingwaterfalls #tonystravelingcircus (at Bighorn National Forest)
Ooo American iconic parks! Little Rushmore, little Devils Tower. Was a good day. #mtrushmore #devilstower #americanlandmarks #tonystravelingcircus
Traveling from Chicago to The Badlands was mostly a flat yet beautiful landscape. Because of the long drive I needed to entertain myself a bit so stop by some good ole fashioned #roadsideattraction again😙. Especially like the jolly green giant, good job town of #blueearthminnesota #midwestsunsets #tonystravelingcircus
Day 16 The Badlands, South Dakota: Once I left Chicago I began to really travel west and started to see the real west. Small towns, large open farms and fields, flat yet beautiful in its expanse. After driving for a while in South Dakota I finally came upon a sign for the Badlands. I hadn’t planned on stopping there, not really knowing what to expect, but who can pass up a park called the Badlands. So glad I made this detour, one of the most amazing places I’ve been to on this trip. The flat plans of SD turn into natural carved out rocks and stone dune like mountains. Walking around these stone giants I felt as though I was on another planet, of Mars of sorts. Even drove by some Bighorn sheep grazing off the side of the snake-like road. As it started to get dark I found a great spot to watch the sunset then made some dinner. After the sun faded the stars dominated the sky, don’t get to see the outline of the milky way that often and it was awe-inspiring to see.
Chicago: Final entry in the 6 CD changer for Yoda. So I had two interesting choices. One was a CD I found on a bench next to the NBC building, right next to where Ja-Rule was doing his interview. It seems to be an indie/garage heavymetal/grunge/punk band. The other is a jazz cd from the man who I saw perform at that jazz club, and he was nice enough to sign it for me, very cool! So those where my options for the final slot, let the battle of the band begin...😎 #chicagogroundscore #fareedhaquejazz #nukeateen #tonystravelingcircus (at Chicago, Illinois)
Day 14 Chicago: Went to art museum, made some fish friends at the aquarium, took a boat cruise around and through the city. Gooood day! #chicagoexperience #artinstituteofchicago #chicagoaquarium #chitownviews #tonystravelingcircus (at Chicago, Illinois)
Day 14 Chicago part 1: Morning at the Art Institute of Chicago. Such a lovely place with enthralling art!
Chicago Nights 2: Went to this hip jazz bar that @jasilva1955 recommend, thanks pops! Great jazz and darknstormys. If y'all are ever in the city looking for jazz be sure to check out Andys Jazz club! #chicagojazz #darknstormys #andysjazzclub #tonystravelingcircus (at Andy's Jazz Club)
Chicago at night 1: I got to the city late in the evening. It's kind of amazing the way how some of the buildings and streets in this city line up with the setting sun perfectly. It quite beautiful. Also stayed in the old hotel downtown, which I found out later by my dad is apparently haunted, sooo not much sleep👻. Walked around the city took some pics of the lights and scenery, had some good cocktails, listen to good jazz, walked by a window with Ja-Rule being interviewed for radio...😗. This city rocks. #chicago #congresshotelchicago #jaruleradio #tonystravelingcircus (at Millennium Park)
Before I got into Chicago, I took slight detour to catch some rays on the sandy shores of Lake Michigan. It was interesting to swim in a lake that looks like an ocean but is not salty. But it was a must needed recharge before entering the lively city I saw in the distance. Also drove through some interesting sounding towns...I'm talking about u Kalamazoo.😉 #lakemichiganbeach #kalamazoo #tonystravelingcircus (at Indiana Dunes State Park)
Day 13 Chicago! : I had so much fun in this city and what a city it is. Around every corner there is something going on, music, events, art installations, delicious food and brews. I got to the city at the same time as this huge triathlon was going on, so that added an extra element of excitement, though I’m sure it did raise the hotel prices a bit. I took a lot of pictures for this one. These are only from the first day/night so I will be showing more. Stay tuned.
Day 12 Back in the USA! Monday in Michigan : After traveling through 4 territories of Canada and many Tim Horton coffees, I finally made it back into the States. The first city I passed through was Detroit, saw the ruff nature of this post industrial city, but also saw some beauty in this old place. Then ended up crashing in Ann Arbor, home of Michigan University, very big college town. Grabbed some good food, and watched a little Monday Night Football with the Wolverines. Sweet the Google mobile, I should have just got one of these bad boys.. #backintheusa #detroit #michigan #gowolverines #googlecar (at Detroit, Michigan)
Night 11 Niagara Falls: Took a little side trip to the waterfall central. Couldn’t help myself.
Day 11 Toronto: More photos from the the big city! Keep rocking on Toronto!
