used my jankass tablet loom setup to weave a belt for Pride Purposes, shredded the fringe trimmings/excess warp and spun it back into yarn. my power is growing.

#my body is a machine that turns cheap bad yarn into free terrible yarn #my dumb ass is also currently trying to tablet weave a bookmark out of SEWING THREAD. this was a bad idea!#for several reasons i could have forseen and also some surprise secret reasons i now know about #but we learn things by fuking around #most of my bad handspun yarn so far has been going into a frog amigurimi who is intentionally somewhat frankensteinly in nature #for posterity #i do think my ability to draft a consistent weight of yarn is improving. largely hampered by the quality of my fiber aka Recycled Ends #so it may be time to actually acquire some real fiber.#exciting times inthe ancient handicrafts zone

Used up all the ends i had handy! I want to ply it but also I'm in the middle of the project that generated most of the ends i just used, so i feel like i want to get to a stopping point in that project and use up the rest of the ends it WILL generate before ending this spin. As it were.

#doing a really overcomplicated cardigan #where i go through my storygraph and total up how many hundreds of pages of different genres ive read #fantasy scifi realistic fiction and nonfiction #and this determines which color i am adding to the cardigan #its a whole thing #and results in a lot of ends #when i get to the end of my storygraph records (january 2023) i will have to stop for a while #so then the spin can wrap up

Just about managed to put down the half-made spindle and go to bed when i thought "can u recycle yarn ends into roving to spin tho" and youtube said YOU SURE CAN so here we are at 12:30 am

#i tend to save yarn ends anyway so. i had a pile.

#these are drop spindles #for spinning yarn #you can make them! but it matters how much they weigh #probably this dowel is going to turn out too heavy any which way #but i was like #what if i carve off some of the wood. what if i spent four hours carving the wood #which is not and i cannot stress this enough is NOT balsa wood #i just want to spin a yarn #for no reason

#sometimes you decide to go to a function #and then you decide: i will wear a costume to this function #and the function is in 48 hours #so ur costume is mainly a sheet with a hole in it if you dress as the right guy it can kind of work #(the function was a screening of ep 5. my coworker went as Leia: Hoth Edition and she was great.)

the thing they dont tell you about getting into birds is you will be doing shit like sitting with your windows open at 11pm bc there's a barn owl in the woods half a block away and you are now living a life where the sound of a barn owl half a block away in the dark of night is a sound you want to hear on purpose.

some goddam guy knocked on my door at 6:15 am, politely and insistently enough that i got up to see what it was about (nothing) and now i've been up for two (2) extra hours and i do NOT know how to function. my routine.

applying for some courses at the local community college and the application is like, a sheet where you put your name and address and then you have to write a paragraph about yourself/why you want to be in the program so on the one hand: short application, but on the other hand: extremely load-bearing paragraph. i have written and printed my paragraph to take in tomorrow so tonight's mood is exactly 50% "ive done it its over im free" and 50% "NO ITS TOO THIRSTY AND CORNY I TAKE IT BACK I MUST DO ANOTHER DRAFT".
