A First Look at Ryan Scott Oliver and Hunter Foster'sJasper in Deadland, Starring Matt Doyle

The New York premiere of Ryan Scott Oliver and Hunter Foster's Jasper in Deadland — a new musical that follows 16-year-old Jasper as he journeys into the afterlife to save his best friend — officially opened March 26 at the West End Theatre in the Church of St. Paul and St. Andrew. Matt Doyle (The Book of Mormon) stars in the title role.

JASPER IN DEADLAND is an original musical theater work created by Hunter Foster (co-bookwriter) and Ryan Scott Oliver (music / lyrics / co-bookwriter).The critically-acclaimed Prospect Theater Company (www.ProspectTheater.org) will mount the NYC premiere of JASPER IN DEADLAND from March 16 – April 13, 2014 at the West End Theatre.  

Part of the production budget is a HATCHFUND (just like Kickstarter!) meant to raise a total of $12,500. Currently we have raised just under $7000. If you are in a place to contribute any amount to the fund, please help us make Jasper in Deadland a reality. Any amount helps!

Prospect Theater Company mounts the NYC premiere of JASPER IN DEADLAND, by Hunter Foster and Ryan Scott Oliver: March 16 - April 13, 2014.

In this new musical, 16-year-old Jasper journeys through the Afterlife on a mission to save his best friend, Agnes. On his thrill-ride through a hybrid underworld, Jasper encounters demons, gods, mortals and monsters from Greek, Egyptian, Roman, and Norse mythology, questioning what it means to die and learning what it means to live.
