​     Zatanna’s laugh is quick to break her own brooding spell and generate a reciprocal smile of her own-- she couldn’t remember the last time someone had managed to lighten her up so quickly, Zatanna really was quite magical.

     “Oh, he does--” it was uncanny how the dark knight seemed to know just about everything going on in the city. It also didn’t help that she wasn’t exactly subtle and wasn’t hiding her presence in the city. 

     Where was she staying? Nowhere specific-- she had a tendency to craft portals and be back in her own bed if needed, hence figuring out where to stay was never an active concern of hers. Zatanna’s offer touches her. Gotham might be a sordid city, but how could it not feel like home when it had so many deeply special people for her?

     “You sure? I’ll stay-- as long as you keep me company--” she could spend hours just listening to her speak and watching her work, she does not want to intrude upon Z’s schedule however, “of course, if you’ve got time for an old friend like me”

     Getting a read on him was easier said than done. There was often so much going on with him that it often overwhelmed her-- hence he was one of the few people who’s minds and thoughts she did not take a look at unless absolutely needed. And right now, she was very tempted to take a look.

     “You’ve got something planned” she says, it is less of an accusation and more of a statement. She might have walked in at the wrong moment, or maybe he had planned this all along, but something was up and she was going to get to the bottom of this. “Come on, spill it. You can’t hide it from me forever--” and maybe she won’t alert the rest of the Titans about it.
