Personally, I like Batman and I love seeing fascists get mad, so this is just a win-win for me.

You have to be incredibly short-sighted (or just plain dumb) to get upset because the main villain in a story set in pre-Hispanic Latin America during the conquest is... a conquistador. Seriously, what did you expect?

But let’s get to the core of it: hispanophobia isn’t real. No one hates Spaniards. No one is actively blaming them for the conquest or forcing them to “atone” for what their ancestors did.

The only people who feel attacked when this part of history is portrayed are the Spaniards who still try to justify or glorify the genocide.

Seriously, don’t try to be like the Americans. It’s not going to work.

Latin Americans do have a certain historical awareness of our origins and our true roots.

And no, Manolo, the fact that the Aztecs practiced human sacrifice as part of their religious rites doesn’t justify wiping out their entire culture (and all other Latin American cultures too).
