Kinda hoping that Hisashiâs been dead all along and was used as part of Touyaâs replacement of body parts, since he had fire breath and presumably a resistance to heat. Bring in more angst.

Hi, why do you think DFO (Dad for one) is dumb? I've been seeing it around lately and I want to see the counter evidence against the theory.
Well, if you are interested, there is at least one thread a day about it on Reddit.Â
I think it would be dumb narratively. Izukuâs story is about the ordinary, every day kid getting a shot to become extraordinary.Â
If now his father is revealed to be AFO - then what? What does it mean to the story? Why change the basic tenet of the story for a Star Wars reference?Â
Also, you know it makes very little sense for AFO to go into the entire effort of courting and marrying Inko (who has a pretty lame quirk and is a very ordinary woman herself), presumably to have a baby (and if that isnât the Todoroki family story...) and steal his quirk (and donât even get me started on how much I hate the âIzukuâs stolen quirkâ theory) then have a doctor fake quirkless papers, and then work done, stay married to Inko and pretend to be working somewhere else never to pay attention to the kid again but instead take in another child and groom him to be his successor?Â
Not to mention the fact that AFO couldnât have orchestrated the entire chain of events that led to All Might transferring OFA to Izuku. There are just way too many lucky coincidences there where he wouldnât have had an influence.
And why would AFO do all this when he has pretty much the whole world at his disposition to search for quirks, plus a doctor who is able to do whatever he wants?Â
And what would it add to Izuku as a person if it turned out that his father with whom he has no emotional connection is somehow the big bad?Â
Or what would it add to learn he had a quirk? That he wasnât âuselessâ after all? Is that what we are going to take away, that we buy into the cruel conception of the BNHA society that views quirkless as âless thanâ?Â
Yeah, I know JK will always only have breadcrumbs, never expected much esp from a series like this..but still, J&M deserved better than what they received, damn. Part of me is kind of glad Yams laid his hands off of JK, not sure if I trust his track record with m/f bonds haha. I also believe the hubba rlly is Jean now, it rlly was 1000% heavily implied. But no matter what, I'll always love the ship & the potential it had. N E way thx 4 ur posts about this chaos, helped me cope lol. Stay fab xoxo
Thank you for this message anon. Writing these posts has helped me stay sane in this chaos lol.Â
I agree, given his history of handling ships Iâm lowkey thankful Yams didnât touch JK. And to be completely honest, I personally donât mind as long as I can see a ship coming before it happens and I was able to see JK coming from around the beginning of rumbling arc. Itâs the way Mikasaâs character arc is designed. Mikasa is not the girl in love whose lover goes rogue but then comes back and they get a happy ending. That trope is very common but there the girl recognises the darkness in her lover and confronts him. Itâs like their payback. They stand for the greater good and oppose the person they love and as a reward is presented with a happy ending with them. But Mikasa was taking far too long to even acknowledge Erenâs darkness (also Marley arc pretty much established that Eren couldnât be redeemed). And the reason it happens this way is unlike other girls in love, Mikasaâs love isnât just love, her love is unbalanced, her character flaw lies in her love. Sheâs actually traumatised from her loss and has attached her sense of self to Eren to an extreme. She has this co-dependent relationship with him and all her dreams are tied to him and him only. She canât picture a life outside him. This is not loyalty or devotion, this is literally her character flaw she has to overcome. And that happens throughout the story, her world gets bigger, she opens her eyes beyond Eren and forms other important bonds, starts finding her identity outside him. But sheâs still very attached to Eren, and thatâs why her arc has to complete by her letting go of him (by then I was staring to figure out Eren would die, wasnât sure she will be the one to kill him). And then her perfect closure is her living the life she had always wanted, but thought she could only ever have with Eren, with someone else. And when you think of âsomeone elseâ for Mikasa, the story has set up a certain character to fit that role. Since the very beginning. Jean and Mikasa the two characters are actually very compatible if you look at them, their life goals and dreams align too well, neither of them are fighting because they want to, theyâre what you call reluctant heroes whoâd rather live a peaceful life away from the conflict if they could. Jean is everything Mikasa wants except heâs not Eren. And ironically Eren is nothing Mikasa wants. Heâs the type who will always be chasing after something, if he wasnât doing the rumbling heâd be doing something else. Heâs not the type to settle down and live a peaceful life like Mikasa wants. Thatâs the biggest tragedy of EreMika. For a character like Jean to exist in the story, and he also very conveniently has feelings for her and his character has been set as a contrast to Eren since the very beginning. He has a positive development while Eren has a negative development as the story goes on. Erenâs relationship with Mikasa (or Armin, or even EMA as a trio) deteriorates as the story progresses while Jean and Mikasaâs best moments are in the final arc, not romantic but you can see the comradeship they share. The way he has become someone Mikasa can trust at a time she canât trust Eren anymore. It was NOT a coincidence that Jean was the one to suggest killing Eren to Mikasa for her to finally accept it. (I donât know why it got translated as âwe have to kill Erenâ, Jean said ă掺ăăă âletâs kill Eren.â He presented it to her as a suggestion, not as a compulsion. And she accepted it). And like the king of twisted humor he is, Yams had him pose as Erenâs body double several times and made jokes about them looking similar, and I remember that dialogue from Jean during the sunset scene, where he offers to inherit Erenâs titan to save Mikasa and says something like, âItâs annoying getting a hand me down from Eren, but who better than me?â I remember reading that and thinking THATâS SICK?!Â
After chapter 127 came out, I did a rereading of the manga and that convinced me JeanMika was going to be endgame because the way itâd give a closure to both their character arcs (but itâs just in wrapping up their character arcs, like an afterthought, their main arc completion was for Mikasa in killing Eren, and for Jean in getting sacrificed in the process of saving the world). In fact I felt stupid for not seeing it before. I think a lot of readers look at characters as if theyâre people with their own free will, but theyâre not. Theyâre characters in a story put there by the writer to play some role. People saw Jeanâs feelings and decided oh, heâs still in love and Mikasa still doesnât care. While it was actually supposed to be seen as, oh, so Jeanâs feelings for Mikasa is still relevant to the story even though it has achieved absolutely nothing so far? He has his feelings because Yams put it there and Yams must have a reason for putting it there. Thatâs why I wasnât even worried heâd die or anything (even when he turned into a titan, I was 100% sure he was coming back). And back then I wasnât even a shipper. Unlike most JK shippers who never expected it to be canon, I actually took interest in the ship because I fully believed itâll be endgame. So, when I heard about Mikasaâs husband looking like Jean, it was just a smug âtold yaâ moment for me. Like to me, itâs Jean there isnât any other option itâs him lol.Â
This got way too long but I couldnât help writing. Take care and I apologise for rambling so much â¤ď¸
I donât know why people are saying Eren died for nothing. Judging by Mikasaâs age, the surrounding technology (which, fair enough, may not parallel our own world 1:1), and the tree height/diameter throughout the years from their childhood to Paradis destruction (which is probably drawn a bit inconsistent), Iâd say that at least 150 years have passed from the rumbling to the possible demise of Paradis. Thatâs a good bit of time considering Paradis was going to be invaded within a few years of RBAâs mission.
itâs a good day to be a multishipper

Anime is great. Anime will be like âthis is my character of ambiguous western descent. Their name is the most incomprehensible combination of made up sounds. And if not that, it is a name that has not appeared on a single birth certificate since 1773.
Code Geass went and said âmost of these character hail from Future Sort-of-Britain, including our main character, who will be named Lelouch just like every single British person isnât.â Then they decided to distract you from this by naming his love interest Shirley, cornering the market of 80+ year old grandmothers clutching their 3 bowls of strawberry sucker candy in delight. Code Geass didnât even call it a day here they had one more trick up their sleeve and it was to name the third character in the group Rivalz, a name and a character which appeal to exactly no one.
Tiger and Bunny said âWhat should our western young-20â˛s heartthrob successful pretty-boy deuteragonist be named? What screams âyoungâ and âtrendyâ and âbrilliantâ and âsexyâ? Barnaby. Barnaby Brooks. This is our Sex Symbol Barnaby.â I bet a bunch of ghosts from the 17th century were stoked about that one. I bet Barnaby walks into gift shops asking if they have any of the travel keychains in his name and he gets laughed out of the store. I bet Barnabyâs parents didnât die, they just faked their deaths to get away from him seeing as they hated him enough to name him Barnaby.
I havenât followed Attack on Titan in 7 years but yall have a character named Pieck Finger. Thatâs it thatâs my roast.
lol yes
It will never be not weird to me whenever Dabi woobifiers (no, fans=/=woobifiers) bring up their status as familial abuse victims to claim higher credibility/moral superiority in painting Endeavor as a worse criminal than Dabi, they forget that some of us living in different parts of the world are victims of terrorism.
Can we all stop bringing up uncomfortable topics? I just want to enjoy a manga.
Iâm not sure what message youâre trying to send here. I respect you, but I am free to voice my opinions on this platform, including my observation on what I see as problematic takes, as other people whom I disagree with are also free to voice their opinions and be challenged on them. ok disorganized take below that iâll organize later re: fuyumi & touya
Keep reading
This is definitely not confirmed, but this is how I suspect Fuyumiâs relationship with Touya was as well! For the longest time I thought that Fuyumiâs meeker personality seemed to stem from her relationship with Touya (especially since she mentioned Natsuo was very close to Touya, as opposed to them being close as a trio), and as you put it, walking on eggshells around him. I didnât suspect Endeavor as much since Endeavorâs abuse was only ever shown whenever training was involved (Shoutoâs training, Rei âlettingâ Touya keep training), but he never reacted aggressively when his children told him off (Natsuo at the family lunch, Shouto during the sports festival and remedial arc).
