Gibson Les Paul Standard Vintage 50s
Tu qué comprarías con US $27,000.00?
Vintage 50's Gibson Les Paul Standard
Anyone wanting to own a "Burst" at a fraction of the price they can actually take out and enjoy playing this is it! I have never seen another guitar like this for sale anywhere.
Before we go on I MUST address the ""Billy Gibons" new Les Paul that sold on eBay. A "New" guitar with new parts, new wood, new finish that some "Guitar God" signed and strummed once sold for 38,000! WHAT JUST HAPPENED?
ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! GUITAR BUYER STUPIDITY "RUN WILD"!!!
Here's the scoop: Originally an early 1955 Les Paul Standard which the original owner sent back to Gibson factory in 1963 to have completely redone as a 1959 sunburst and at which time Gibson re-serial numbered it as a '63; there is a similar one on eBay right now but it was a 52 w only a top re-fin and a reset neck, mine was totally re-done by Gibson with the appropriate back, sides, and neck in cherry. It is an original vintage factory burst finish! In fact, I dare say my good friend Rick Neilson of Cheap Trick was playing this guitar last week and commented that it was a beautiful and totally authentic looking burst finish. In case you didn't know Rick is an authority on late 50's "Bursts" and has just opened his vintage museum in Rockford Illinois. It has nicely and "NATURALLY" aged and faded over the years; not like one of those fake looking reliced things. And ORIGINAL, pretty near, ONE PIECE MAPLE TOP! Not one of these re-toped ones or 3 and four piece resprayed tops you see for sale at the same price or more.
The heart and soul of the guitar, the pickups, are two original long magnet pafs from a late '59 ES 335 with reissue covers and they SCREAM! (Roger Giffin has authenticated these to be the real deal in an included written statement) One is a double white and the other a zebra! They deliver a perfectly balanced nice rich tone at lower volume and when turned up will wipe out the first 20 rows at any concert with perfect note seperation. I used this guitar on a few tunes while opening shows for ZZ Top recently and "The God" of tone was grinning from ear to ear. When the greatest tone master reacts like that you have found your magical guitar! Albert Lee has also played this guitar on several occasions and loves it. To get really serious I "AB'd" this against EC's original 58 Les Paul and mine was "heads and tails" better tone.
WEIGHT = 8LBS 3 OUNCES! (No, the scale was not broken) I just sold a Strat that was heavier than that! And this guitar resonates all day and night...
The tunomatic and stop are older Gibson but not original 50's components and the rings are replacements. The switch was replaced but the original is included. I've been playing this guitar for eighteen years and the switch was intermittently shorting out. Everything else is original. Original keys keep perfect tune and never a break, crack, or any repairs to this instrument outside of the tunomatic installation and pickup routes. Very comfortable frets in perfect condition and a nice chunky late 50s neck profile with that perfect '55 neck angle. I am no longer playing this guitar so it's for sale. May consider a cool trade?
COMES WITH IT'S ORIGINAL CLEAN BROWN HARD SHELL CASE!
