I’ve seen someone suggest that the reason aa7 is taking so long is because they’re jumping on the “open world” trend, and the more I think about it, the more open I am to the idea …!
rather than fully open world, I’d still prefer specific locations with loading screens, but imagine if they were fully 3D and you could interact with everything like in ace attorney investigations. Maybe the locations could still have a locked camera and your companion would follow you around like pokemon colosseum.
and the thing is, if they do this, there’s no doubt in my mind that they’d also include the recent video game trend of having a photo mode. Imagine being polly, or athena, and being able to pose and take selfies together. Imagine pointing your camera at your companion and they automatically pose. Imagine being at a crime scene and getting yelled at by the detective for not taking the investigation seriously.
Imagine being able to stand in the Wright Anything Agency with the ability to look all the way around.
Imagine a camera being implemented into the story as well. You’d have to take pictures of things, and then you’d get to use your own photos as evidence in court. Maybe you’d still be able to do past forensic minigames, but now in a 3D space.
It’d be a big departure for the series, and while I do miss the 2D sprites and painted bgs, I can play the old games for that. Depending on how they implement it, I don’t think I would mind a fully 3D ace attorney!! 👀
