However, he seems more curious than angry, though the steely gaze, battle-scarred body, and graying fur cuts an imposing figure nonetheless.

( Hey there, long time no...no posting of any kind, really.  This is going to be a new project of mine, something I’m going to attempt to be a bit more structured with rather than leaving posts up to the whims of asks and what not. I do want to come back to Sev’s story, make no mistake. But before I can do that, I need to figure out what went “wrong” with how I was approaching it.  Wrong is a bit of a strong term, because I’ve had lots of fun and learned so much in the process.  The “wrong” is just my unknowing what works for me in regards to Telling A Story.  And I owe it to Sev and his tale to figure out what works before properly trying to tackle his tale again. So, if you liked Sev, or even just my art, then perhaps take a gander over at my new fella, and we can all learn together. )

(( A couple of doodles, to get back in the swing.  And to prove that I haven’t let my skills stagnate in my absence.  Forgive my brief comments attached to the one with @dailytypenull's​ Noah.  I’ll leave them under the cut.  It just feels important to write them down. ))

(( Because I’ve been absent these past few months, I’ve only just now learned of Kizzy’s passing.  I may not have known her well, certainly not beyond “the mun behind dailytypenull”, but she still had an impact on me, and I feel remiss to let that go unsaid.

It was Noah’s adventures that opened my mind to potentially starting an ask blog.  I’d thought that ask blogs were either selective rp focuses, or had to have some sort of overarching plot in the forefront.  And yet here was Kizzy and Noah, providing a fun little romp that certainly brightened my day.  And so, no more than a week after I discovered that blog, I had the bare bones thought up for Sev, with Idry joining the “plot” mere days after that. 

I also think this blog wouldn’t have reached the expanse of followers it has without her sending Noah my way in the blog’s early days.  At the very least, it wouldn’t have grown as fast as it did.  And because of that, she was indirectly the catalyst for the greatest artistic improvement I’ve ever had, at least since I first picked up a pencil and decided to draw.  And I will never not be thankful for that.  I’ve learned so much in the aftermath of just one, simple ask.

So, I may not have known her, not in any sort of “traditional” manner.  But that doesn’t change the fact that I’m going to remember her every time I look down at some new piece of mine, and remember how far I’ve come.  And I can only hope to keep improving from here, as my own little tribute to the person who, however indirectly, gave me the courage to get out there and learn.

Here’s to you, Kizzy.  I can only hope you’re having the time of your life, wherever you are now. ))

Destroyed any UBs yet, Beast Killer?

“I…we’ve only ever met one.  Shortly before the RKS testing began, there was a Wormhole that opened in the Facility.  Designation UB-01 Symbiont.  It became an unplanned test of my Unit’s combat cohesion.  We…passed with flying colors.” 

“Its corpse was used in...further experiments.  Unless my programming denies the possibility, I’d prefer to not clash with one again.  And if I have to, I can only hope that the corpse finds its rest far from humans.  I don’t have confidence that the remains would be used for good.”

Day 2 - Bloody Hands + Tranquil Sev got his metaphorical hands bloody to save a rockruff pup named Idry when his abusive trainer turned her attentions to the new pup.  From bloody beginnings, the chance for peace was granted with their escape.

Day 1 - Stabbed + Poisonous I’m gonna give inktober another go this year.  To feed my own taste for drama, I’m going to be combining this whumptober prompt list with the official inktober one.  Expect to see a lot of poor Sev, I’m thinking.

File Transcript as Follows: BK-03R is designed to be a be all and end all recon unit. It was built with a suite of sophisticated sensors and data capture modules, all powered by bioenergy. BK-03R is also host to an experimental onboard computing system, used to handle all tactical processing both in real-time and on delay. The Unit also utilizes a pixel display to properly convey its mood and status. To compliment the carbon steel teeth, a fluid delivery system has been built into BK-03R’s jaw. The primary tank is filled with an elementally reactive gel that will react with the RKS Drive for use in elemental bite atacks. The remaining three chamber contents are to be left to the discrtion of the Unit’s handler. While BK-03R’s cranium is sufficiently reinforced, it is strictly prohibited to teach or otherwise allow the Unit to learn moves such as Iron Head or Zen Headbutt due to the risk of damage to the delicate, onboard sensors. The jaw and protective face plate are made from carbon steel. Programing allows for the jaw to lock on close. Caution should be used, however, due to risk damaging the jaw or nearby sensors should the target struggle. The lower edge of face plate is sharpened to compensate for the absence of proper teeth in the upper jaw. Safety proceedures state that BK-03R be completely powered down before any maintenance is done to or around the jaw and related sensors. Shutdown is not necessary for plate sharpening, but recommended. *Clearence granted for experimentation using UB-01 Symbiont venom with BK-03R’s Fluid Delivery System

(( Hey all.  I’m still here, just...still trying to figure out where I want to go with this blog.  I’m sure as heck not leaving it, in fact, in 5 days I’ll have been keeping this place for a whole year!  I want to do something for that anniversary, and it’ll likely be another art giveaway (since I also passed the 1k follower mark recently! I’m just...amazed.  Wow..)
