Jesse: If any of these damn dance moms text me one more time on the number that I provided for emergencies to tell me "make sure Jessica doesn't forget her tights at dance this time" or "I just realized I forgot to put Mackenzie's eczema cream on this morning, can you do it?" I'm gonna lose my mind.
Audrey: Ew that does sound awful. This is why I'm glad i don't work with kids.

Iām Cecilia, by the wayā¦ and you knowā¦ if you and your girlfriend would ever want to adopt, thereās this shelter in St. Juan that has the cutest puppies ever.ā
āThatās my thought on it,ā Audrey agreed with a smile.Ā She looked back up from the dog when the woman introduced herself.Ā Ā āNice to meet you, Cecilia.Ā Iām Audrey and I will definitely keep that in mind.Ā Even if itās only to go look at the cutest puppies ever.ā

āAww it depends on the pet. Dogs may not be the best option just because they need lots of love. but cats tend to sleep all day anyway. Theyāll love on you whenever you are around and find their own time when you arenātā

āIām not home that much and when Iām off Iām usually with my girlfriend over at her place.Ā Any cat I got would spend way too much time on itās own.Ā Thatās a lonely life for any poor little cat.ā

They have gadgets for all kinds of things these days.ā Cecilia beamed, smiling as she watched the woman scratch behind Frenchieās ears, who turned her head to lick the womanās hand.Ā āSheās super friendly, but I think itās because sheās as needy as I am.ā She couldnāt help but to make a face at her own words, scrunching her nose a little.Ā āOr maybe a cat would be nice, too. Theyāre more independent than dogs. Maybe thatās easier for you.ā
āIāve thought about a cat too but between spending time at work and at my girlfriendās house there isnāt a lot of time for me to hang out and take care of a cat,ā Audrey explained with a shrug.

āWhile I do understand, considering the fact that I spend most of my day out of the apartment, I understand.ā She smiled at the woman as she bobbed her head.Ā āWhich is why Iām super thankful for technology because I bought those feeders and water things that feeds pets at a certain time and let them drink as much water as they want, so that helps me a lot. Theyāre definitely a lot to handle, but they make up for it when you come home and theyāre super happy to see you.ā
āOh thatās super neat,ā Audrey replied.Ā Ā āI still think Iād struggle but itās nice to know there are options there if I ever decide to give the whole havingĀ a pet thing a try.āĀ She scratched behind Frenchieās ears and smiled.Ā Ā āSheās such a cutie.ā

āIt is. I love it. Honestly I have a lot more fun caring for animals than I did humans. Which is probably a bit sad but its more fulfilling. Plus I get to foster some of the animals in our shelter which is always nice.ā

Chances are, sheāll lay down for you to rub her stomach though, so bewareā¦ do you have pets?ā
Audrey lowered her hand so the dog could sniff her while she looked up at her.Ā Ā āHonestly thatās the cutest name,ā Audrey told her.Ā Carefully she pet the top of the dogās head before shaking her own.Ā Ā āNope, I donāt have pets.Ā I donāt have the time to commit to a whole living animal, you know?Ā It seems like itās a lot of work to have them depending on me.ā
