Lexie!Audrey 4x05 Appreciation Post
Just a little Sarah Vernon for you all.
She's writing you a parking ticket like a little asshole.
Lexie Dewitt, everybody!
"My friend who can read minds. That’s really all you need to know ‘bout him.”
"Wow, I really hate people like that," Audrey says. "I mean - sorry, I didn't mean to insult your friend. Just, you know, people who can do that kind of thing, it's very irritating."
“Yup. ‘Specially ‘cause, as far as they’re both concerned, that shit doesn’t exist. I don’t exactly wanna break the news. Ever.”
"I'm just sayin'.... Not that I'd ever tell them, but I bet if they did find out...they'd still love you." She awkwardly reaches out and pats his hand.
”I can’t read minds. That’s a Chuck thing so don’t worry ‘bout that,” she mumbled against the lip of yet another shot glass.
Audrey gives her an expectant look.
"Who is Chuck?"
“Good. ‘Cause I know I’m her son and she loves me and all that shit, but— well, she’d fuckin’ freak. Simply put. Y’know?”
"It's gotta be a hard thing for a parent to wrap their head around," she nods.
“Yo, no. You are not t’tell my mom I’m an incubus, alright—?” Not that she’ll ever meet her, but still. "Cross your heart, Parks."
She's never had a nickname before.
At least, not that she remembers.
"'Course I'm not gonna tell her," she says. "I'm very discreet."
”I know too much ‘bout the things I don’t wanna know ‘n not enough ‘bout the things I wish I did,” Logan replied, another shot creating a fiery blaze down her throat before she turned to face the woman. “—I’m an open book if you wanna ask something.”
Audrey shook her head, apologetic. "Sorry, I don't know why I thought..." She waved her hand. "It was just like you were reading my mind."
“Yeah, I feel like you two would get along perfectly fine. Which’d be awful and I hope I’m never in the room when it happens.”
"We could both pinch one of your little incubus ears and just drag ya around," Audrey says, giggling at her own joke. Good joke, Parker. Who can resist that charm? Friends - you're gonna have them.
"Have you ever thought that you just…don’t belong? Like the world is made in one way and you’re made in the other? Sometimes you wonder when it’s all gonna end but really, you just know, that it ain’t ever gonna do that ‘cause that’d be too easy. Do you ever think that some people were just made…wrong?”
“Yeah. ——Me neither.”
Audrey stares at the other woman.
"What do you know?" she asks desperately, and then blinks, remembers herself and takes a step back.
"I mean - yes, I really, really do."
“You sound so much like my mom, it’s actually a little upsetting.”
"Ah, my favorite thing to hear a man say," Audrey says with a wistful sigh, dusting off her jeans. "She must be quite a woman."
“Only doing what you asked.”
"You are so helpful," she says, and struggles out of the cabinet by herself.
