Tavonica 100 word drabbles - Song

   Onica lies on her side, sweat-soaked, trembling. There is the pain, yes, but even worse is the realization that her wings–    “Do you know any songs, Silverling?”    Her pale shadow fidgets, “I am no singer.”    A memory says otherwise, “Yet I’m sure I’ve heard you.”    “That,” gossamer wings twitch, embarrassed, “Was only a distraction.”    “And I,” Onica cannot think of her own wings, “Could use another distraction.”      The soldier frowns. Dower. Thoughtful.    Then, softly.    “…unae sae... sah mae unamou…”    Old words. Meanings lost to time.    But the voice is gentle, and Onica smiles at its awkwardness as she drifts asleep.
