We invited Cécile Lacharme to play for a lucky few in the warmth of a Parisian home. It was a dazzling moment of enchantment, as if time stood still with every movement of the bow. The French cellist played ‘Orage’ from her first solo album ‘Dérives’. She describes the piece as the sound of our inner rages, the ones we dare not express. Like a thunderstorm held back, the piece takes us from the turmoil to the lull, from powerlessness to hope, in an orchestral breath, both cathartic and lyrical.
