I don't understand the perception
of hesitance as cowardice -
when both sides of our human nature
come to a stalemate,
some sort of tête-à-tête, i suppose,
the conflict between thought and emotion
roots the soles of our shoes to the ground
and forces the instinct of our souls to a halt.
it is not to say - I am afraid. I am weak.
to be hesitant is to say - The logic and instinct my heart are battling, furiously, and my mortal body stills with the dissonance and war within my being. Wait for me, for a moment. Wait. I am not afraid.
