âDonât be facetious, little mouse. Cats can bite. And, luckily for you, Iâm a bloody lioness.â
âIâm not flippant. Maybe if you start addressing someone with their real names, they will start to listen.â

âLeft,â Allie said, gesturing and increasing her pace. This woman was clearly delusional and Allie wanted to get far away from her as soon as possible.
When she increased her pace, Aurora followed her from behind, carefully not want to get in her way. Then it struck her. âI am not delusional.â She blurted, rather quickly, not even realized that she said it out loud.
( ;;matilda )
âOh, Iâd doubt thereâs much judgement in the question,â Matilda replied mildly, âmore an assumption.â She waved a dismissive hand. âPeople expect it when they hear the surname Slug, that I surely must be following in the footsteps of my parents.â She shrugged, noting the new knowledge from her companion as well as her American accent. âAmerican,â she said, a statement rather than a question. âWhat brought you here?â
A frown flashed through her features, before her eyes widened. âSlug and Jiggers. Now I get it. No wonder your name sounds familiar.â She chuckled at the mention of a store that she passed along her way here. âThere are plenty of reasons. Some said itâs merely a lack of members for the department. Some said itâs the war. But, Iâm not sure, which from one of them works for me.â She shrugged. âI worked with the Obliviator squad for MACUSA and last week, I was transferred here-- to your Ministry of Magic.â
âIâll be out in a second!âÂ
Aurora blinked at the response from behind the door. Her knuckles were raised against the door, yet she found herself hesitating to knock. Although, she finds it quite hard to read the peopleâs minds since she was here (no thanks to their accent), Aurora was convinced that something was clouded her mind.Â
âTha-- thatâs okay. Take your time.â

âThey call this one. Not sure why. Iâve never seen a single clown.â Isobel paused, contemplating the thought. âPiccadilly,â she said finally. âThe name always makes me hungry.â
âCircus-- was not came from the infamous entertainment show. But, it came from a Latin word meaning âCircleâ.â Aurora began to ramble before she caught the sight of the young woman and began to blush. Itâs obvious that she had taken her time to learn about the place she was meant to stay for the next years. âThe name is kind of makes me laugh-- no offense.â
( ;;allie )
âGood luck with that.â
âJust between the two of us, I doubt luck is enough to help us to get through this. But, still. Thanks.â Aurora nodded, before glanced on the two alleys ahead of them. âSo, which way?â
There were few things Mary disliked more than having to skulk around Knockturn Alley, but as she stared at her To-Do list in all of its crossed-out glory her eyes were tuned to the only task remaining: Book for Dark H. Though her shorthand left much to be desired in the way of explanation, Mary knew clearly that the hastily scribbled phrase referred to a required text she would need if she planned on passing her next unit in Healer Training, and she knew the only place she was going to have any luck finding this particular book on injuries sustained from Dark Magic was in Knockturn Alley.Â
The air had a knack for feeling both colder and thicker in the dimly lit offshoot of the vibrant streets diagonal from it, and Mary at once felt out of place in her bright red pea coat, now pulled tightly up around her neck and mouth as she looked for the bookshop in question. Not soon before long a sign did catch her eye, though it was not the one she had been looking for. Suddenly all of the cold seemed to evaporate from her body, replaced by a white hot heat that she was very unaccustomed to feeling. Forgetting herself, the potential dangers of such an action, or her original purpose for being in Knockturn to begin with Mary reached out and viciously pulled the paper from the window where it read Help Wanted: Muggleborns Need Not Apply.Â
The short blonde pushed through the double doors and marched straight up to the counter paying no mind to her surroundings. âYou cannot possibly be serious!â she yelled, throwing the paper in front of the employee and standing back, fuming in wait.Â
Aurora scrunched up her nose at the unpleasant skunk that lingering in the air. She was convinced that visiting this corner during this cold and chilly day is a wrong decision. She had remembered to take her potion right before she left her flat, but that doesnât seem to lessen the tightness that begins to grow in her chest, almost make it hard to breathe.
She makes her way to a bookshop, not without losing her attention to peering eyes that is following her. She let out a quiet grumble as she walked inside, still tightening her scarf around her neck. She told herself that she will only sit here for a few moments, until sheâs confident enough to continue. Her eyes land on a scene not far from where she was seated. A young woman, looked rather upset over something and fixed her eyes on her own. Her lips gaped open, when she throws the paper on her way and it lands on her feet instead.
âPardon?â
( ;;allie )
âSupposedly thereâs a war, donât know if youâve heard about that. Just steer clear of it all and youâll be fine though.â
âI believe, thatâs the main reason why Iâm here.â
( ;;allie )
âWelcome, then. Itâs not that great a place though. Iâm trying to get out myself.â
âWell, thanks for both the welcome and encouragement.â Aurora chuckled, before it soon went off. âIs there anything I need to know regarding your attempt to get out from here.â
( ;;bellatrix )
âMouse. M-o-u-s-e. Musculus, musculi. Quite simple, Iâm afraid.â
âWhat are you? A seven-year-old who disdainfully named someone after such a creature?â
( ;;matilda )
âI couldnât say, Iâve never particularly noticed a pattern of looks in the people who jump to that question when I introduce myself,â Matilda mused, sucking the lollipop thoughtfully.
âWell, you will be surprised to learn that I am not as judgmental as anyone who youâve encountered with in the past.â She shrugged, completely ignoring the sight of her company sucking on a candy with a rather disturbing shape. âAlas, Iâm new to this neighborhood. So, thereâs a fat chance of me being oblivious about things that going around here.â
( ;;emma )
Emma looked at the girl, eyes flicking to her face. She knew her anger was misplaced, yet she couldnât help herself. She never could. Any time someone wronged her her entire body burst into flames, only to be cooled by the fire that erupted from her mouth in the form of words. Emma had never been soft around the edges.
âFine, once Iâm done, Iâll go track them down and give them a proper tongue lashing for causing you to fall.â
âGood luck on that. Since, she was leaving through that door a few seconds ago, when you were busy putting the blame on me.â
( ;;allie )
âHere as in⊠London?â
âYes, you can say it that way.â
( ;;emma )
âThat unfortunate event couldâve set me back three hours. I donât have three extra hours.â
âNothing was harmed and I had apologized. I was tripped by someone. If you want to put on blame, you can go yell at that person yourself.â
( ;;harriet )
Being an oblivator wasnât something that Harriet ever dreamed of. It was a decent job, she earned money and the breaks were longer than usual. This meant that Harrietâs breaks were appreciated with a good book. Harriet was a creature of habit, everyday she resorted to the same coffee shop to recite her order of a cappuccino and a blueberry muffin.  These were the specific times Harriet did not want to be disturbed.  Trying to focus on her novel, Harrietâs hand roamed into her hair as she felt the frustration in her stomach. Feeling a looming gaze on her from a table across the way. Why didnât people understand that she wanted to be left alone? Raising her head slowly, a morose facial expression etched on her face. Harriet turned to face the onlooker  âCan I help you with something?âÂ
Aurora was munching on her muffin, getting lost in her thoughts when she spotted a woman not far from where she was seated. Sure, itâs rather harmless, not peculiar at all, for someone sitting on a cafe with a book on their hands. But, what caught the young womanâs attention is the thoughts that was swarming inside her mind. Itâs quite a sight, even for her. Possessing the gift of reading someoneâs mind is something that she was trying to embrace a lot lately, without hinting about what she was capable of. A blush appears on her cheek when she caught a pair of eyes staring back at her. âSorry-- I was just.. You seem familiar.â
( ;;allie )
âUm, no. Treasure Grove,â Allie answered. She was a little confused by this woman, but she kept walking.
âOh.. right.â She chuckled. âNope. Never. In fact, it wasnât even more than forty eight hours since I arrived here.â
( ;;allie )
âGood. Have you never been before?â
âHave I ever walk fast before? Not much, recently.â
