Auron had learned how to be there when needed, but not constantly hovering. Patient, present, understanding, empathetic. Knew when to give space. Different from Jecht, who dismissed Tidus as a crybaby and left the boy to face the difficult moments alone.

Auron knew how to calm Tidus down in ways Jecht never could.
