My boyfriend and I are happily together but I'm terrified of living with him because so many people say that's how LDRs break up. We plan on staying together for 5 months in our first meeting. Due to school/money we won't be able to be physically together until we're together for 3 years. I'd go stay with him for 5 mths, go home, then he comes over to me and we get married within those 6 mths so he could stay (we'd be 19, together 4 yrs). Why do LDRs sometimes break up if they live together?
LDR's sometimes break up after living together for awhile because they find that they have different styles of living. Maybe one person is messy while the other keeps things very tidy or one has a bad habit that they don't think twice about that would irritate the other to no end. There are lots of reasons that not just LDR's, but lots of normal relationships break up after trying to live together for awhile. Having that 5 month period together would probably be a pretty big help in that you'd be able to see what you're like while living together and see each other's little habits that you may not realise you're doing and therefore haven't bothered to mention. After those 5 months, you'll probably be able to tell if you're going to be compatible living together. :) Hope I helped!
