…And there was a lot of character in that basketball hall that evening. It may come as a huge surprise to some people but I’ve never been such a huge sports fan myself (or it might just be obvious to everyone). Team sports are the worst. Nevertheless, I went to see and photograph a women’s basketball game and sat right under one of the baskets. It was pretty exciting and awesome and I was only scared for my life and camera for like 15 minutes.

Sports do not build character, they reveal it ...And there was a lot of character in that basketball hall that evening. It may come as a huge surprise to some people but I've never been such a huge sports fan myself (or it might just be obvious to everyone).

So I’ve found out a lot of photos I like seem too dark for many other people. Hard to analyze that. I just love light and shadow, together. Light without shadows seems kind of…boring? Yeah, I like to overcomplicate everything. So here’s a bit of “dark and mysterious”.

Out of darkness

My friend trusted me with a very important task and asked me to take her maternity photos. It’s something totally new for me so naturally I felt pretty nervous and tried to do some homework before the shoot. I ended up really enjoying the process and surprisingly, I think I got some pretty cute photos also (yeah me, taking cute photos, what’s happening to this world?). I still don’t feel taking family and baby photos is my true calling but why not try something new and challenging from time to time. It feels like a pretty big responsibility taking photos of special events in someone’s life and I’m thankful for the opportunity.

One weekend my awesome classmate Liis decided to rent an awesome outfit and I decided with my other awesome classmates Kadri and Ruta to borrow a small softbox for a flash and discover the magical world of shooting with a flash outdoors. We also found an awesome old factory building near Tallinn and the fun began. I loved the hat Liis had borrowed and it reminded me of the Mad-Hatter, thus the quotations from Alice in Wonderland.
