Roosevelt Riots // Charlie & Neal
Neal was looking forward to a night out on the town even if it was for a couple of pints with a fellow Roosevelt resident. The last week he had actually been motivated to do some school work after he received a call from his father. Their conversation was brief just like it always was, but Neal was thankful for any second he could give him even if he nagged him about his studies.Â
His thoughts were broken when Charlie complained about the cold weather. âThis feels about right to me. Gets a wee bit chilly in Northern Ireland sometimes. Are you saying that you donât get snow down under then?â He felt a connection with Charlie even it was superficial due to the fact that she, like him, was from a British influenced country. There are some things that his American mates could never understand no matter how many times theyâve seen Harry Potter,Love Actually, Â PS I Love You, or Doctor Who.Â
"In some parts," Charlie said, shrugging her shoulders. "But in Sydney the winter average is about seven degrees, so it's not really cold enough to snow." She pursed her lips, and then shoved her hands into her pockets. "But I guess that's my own fault for leaving to come to school. I'll have to learn to deal with the weather. It's just strange, because these have always been the summer months to me. so everything feels completely backwards."Â
They kept walking, and Charlie wasn't sure what was going to come from this night. He seemed like he was the type of guy who just liked to drown his troubles with whatever he could get his hands on, and Charlie didn't plan on being that thing. "Hopefully this bar isn't too busy. I don't want this to take forever."
