“People like me?” She raised one brow, only to heave a sigh and let go of the concentrated anger showing on her face. Instead she reached out for some fries herself. Watching others eat always made her hungry. Or greedy. That’d be up for others to decide.
“Yeah, you poor soul, mistreated by society, though I have to admit I feel honored that you’re giving me so much credit.”
The last thing he wanted from her was artificial sympathy. He leaved her to attend to the fries and helped himself with the burger, the one with cheese obviously. Cheese was always a good addition to almost anything. A bite and two made him pull one of the laid out handkerchiefs, wiping the mayonnaise at the corner of his dried lips. He forgot to bring some lip balm.
"Am I?" She likes looking into things deeply, doesn't she?
