In response to the Caliborn Split
Well, it's been mentioned that the retcon powers are not just time travel; it being compared to making something narratively unhappen, hence the name retcon. The distinction might be that we aren't creating a new timeline, we are modifying the existing one (with all souls that have left the sequence of events unaffected). No off shoots, just the same sequence of events being altered.
If we then operated under the assumption that the retcon powers are not under LE's dominion (being as it's not within the realm of time), we can assume that it can affect LE/Caliborn without their knowledge. It could be that all of his interactions with the Alpha session through his computer, would be altered. So There is only Alpha!Caliborn that has been altered to be like he is as PostRet!Caliborn. Then, through a tower of computer monitors which seems to represent mspaintadventures.com (a place where the pre-retcon timeline has been documented), is able to see the shenanigans that result in Erisol.
EDIT: This doesn’t seem to work the more I think about it. This relies on the Pre-retcon timeline being about to play out without the retc- *GASP* UNLESS!!! The Game over section of pre-ret IS actually an Alt!pre-ret, due to Aranea’s influence. Maybe Alpha!pre-ret played out to the creation of a new universe, but not to the optimal realization of each individual player’s role (no vriska), so an alternate timeline superseded it through making it unhappen and rehappen.
