What do you have against TBC exactly? (Genuinely curious, not trying to argue)

there’s a lot of antiblack imagery in homestar runner. peacey p is an especially egregious example, since he’s just TBC’s excuse to make fun of black music, fashion, and accents. but there’s also bubs, whose voice is a white guy’s impression of black comedian redd foxx (lines like “don’t eat my chicken wings… 'cause they mine! and they good!” do not help TBC’s case).

and in sbcg4ap, they have homsar speaking like a stereotypical native american (voiced by two-armed whitey matt chapman again!) and living on a reservation and it’s just really tasteless imo. strong bad’s early voice is yet another example of racial caricature, but they thankfully dropped that.

that’s my primary reason for my negative feelings towards them. there’s also weird stuff they used to make strong bad say about underage girls* but i don’t think they’ve done that for a while.

i am not going to tell anybody to stop watching homestar runner and other TBC projects. i still love their work too. i’m only suggesting that folks watch them mindfully and be prepared to give TBC shit as racism and other bullshit continues to crop up in their work.
