Jackie Taylor's Big, Gay Wilderness Adventure — this fic is my magnum opus. My beloved. My first long, published fic. The fic that helped me form a community with fellow writers. I mean, @autisticlenaluthor and I hang out irl because this fic led to me making friends in fandom in a way I hadn't before. It'll always have a special place in my heart, even if I'm currently on the struggle bus writing it.

En Passant — little bit of a curveball but this is one of the first fics I ever published and I'm pretty proud of it. It's for The Queen's Gambit and about Beth and Cleo because there is not enough content for them.

forgive these bones i'm hiding — another Yellowjackets fic. I wrote the first chapter in one sitting, channeling all my distress from season 3, episode 6. I'm especially proud of how the second chapter turned out. I usually approach Yellowjackets through the lens of it being a psychological horror with no actual supernatural elements, only imagined ones, and it was fun to flip that around with this one. Featuring a Jackie who comes back Wrong, feral, and extremely protective of Nat.

For my last two, I'm sharing unpublished WIPS! Get hyped!!! Both are fics for The Pitt that I've been working on for months—special thanks to @thmtrnfrvns for talking endlessly with me about them.

you have my eyes (you have my heart) — canon divergent au wherein between season 1 and season 2, Trinity gets the tragic news that her brother and his wife were killed in a car accident, leaving behind their five-month-old daughter, Bea. Their five-month-old daughter for whom Trinity is listed as next of kin—her brother made her promise that she wouldn't let her go to their parents. Lots of Whitsantos, found family, and eventual Barantos, featuring Baran's "son" actually being a Chihuahua who takes the same anxiety meds as her.

Excerpt:

death and chaos, miracles and blessings — pre-canon divergent au. (Slightly age-adjusted) Baran and Trinity meet during Trinity's second year of medical school and Baran's final year of residency. An exploration of canon in which Trinity has a support system from the start. A canon where during Baran's first day at PTMC, she has her wife with her and their daughter at home. Lots of domestic fluff and hurt/comfort, with a side of secret relationship, and a whole lot of expanded backstory.

Excerpt (their first meeting in a gay club bathroom, where Baran went when she realized she was about to have a seizure and accidentally walked in on Trinity self-harming):

assuming she is though … i also think it would be so much fun if she were voice acting. is it realistic in this day and age? no, but also if anyone loves a side quest & fun project it’s taylor!! and god what i wouldn’t give for the kind of footage & stuff we got when she did cats and the lorax

realistically if she’s signed on to ts5, i’m assuming it’s for either an end credits song or a song for during the movie. but a girl can dream!

I feel like the fandom misinterprets Shauna’s views on Jackie sometimes

Like, yes Shauna saw Jackie as a villain who was ruining her life— when Jackie was alive

Not after she died. When Shauna sees ghost Jackie for the first times immediately post-mortem, Jackie is happy and fine with playing games in the meat shed. She gossips with Shauna and they laugh together

Jackie being mean happens after Shauna has done bad things, like eating her ear (“What did you do with my ear Shipman”), or when she is actively hunting down Coach Ben. Ghost Jackie grows meaner as Shauna becomes worse. And subconsciously believes that she deserves punishment.

Ghost Jackie is her subconscious, and the manifestation of her guilty conscience

By the time she returns home, Jackie is immortalized by her parents and Wiskayok as a whole, which messes with Shauna’s perception of Jackie in a different way

Jackie isn’t the big bad villain, she’s Shauna’s victim, Shauna’s the monster who brutally killed her and ate her remains after betraying her in the worst ways possible

Shauna’s psyche doesn’t revolve around Jackie being the bad guy anymore, she is the monster now, and she internalizes that belief in order to cope with her trauma

I mean

Or Shauna telling Callie that she thinks of Jackie every day. Or her insistence on showing up to Jackie’s house on her birthday to be ripped to shreds. It’s evident that Shauna does not view Jackie as a villain who ruined her life anymore

It doesn’t fit with the way she acts in these moments

It’s easy for Shauna to see Jackie as a virtuous victim of her monstrous behavior, especially when Shauna has Jackie’s innocence and angelic persona rubbed in her face everywhere she goes, from the statue to the ceramic bunnies, to Jackie’s parents and their surface level knowledge of her daughter over the course of two decades.

That will change your perspective and it requires the way that Shauna views Jackie and the way she views her in adulthood
