Recent hospital stay storytime.

It's been a while since I've posted so thought I'd write about my recent hospital stay. It started with a sore throat on Christmas day. Nothing hugely worrisome but I wasn't feeling myself by the end of the day. Boxing day I woke up feeling like I'd been hit by a large bus. Everything from the chest up hurt, I was congested, throat killing me, coughing and just very poorly. Thought I had the superflu. I was sick for 6 days then my chest started feeling bad and I was struggling with breathing. Visited the GP and was told I had a chest infection and got antibiotics. The day after starting them I can up in a rash. Everywhere. I've had reactions to medication before so assumed it's that. Went to out of hours and was given new antibiotics and some antihistamines. Within 24 hours the rash was different. A mixture of blotches and pinpricks. My head was horribly sore and painkillers didn't help. Ended up back at out of hours. My heart rate was 150 which for me resting is SUPER high. Temp was 39.5. was told I was being kept in for tests. Didn't sleep at all by the time they had got all the blood they need and done heart scans and everything else. Next day was told bloods seemed fine but an inflammation marker was up and they didn't know why. I was told they would check me for a virus I've forgotten the name of. If I had that I could go home and recover as it's not treatable being a virus. If it wasn't id need tests for meningitis. I was started on antibiotics for bacterial meningitis as a precaution. After 12 hours sitting in a very uncomfy chair due to lack of beds I was informed the test was negative and id need a lumbar puncture to test for meningitis. I just wanted sleep. 30 hours with no sleep I finally got a bed and they did the lumbar puncture (not as bad as I imagined but not fun). I had a shit sleep but I slept. I remained on antibiotics the next day and then at 6pm a doctor came and told me they had ruled out bacterial meningitis but I did have viral meningitis. I was diagnosed officially with viral meningitis, chest infection and an ear infection and sent home with antibiotics. It took another week for me to be back to normal and I'm still struggling with fatigue from it all. Happy 2026 to me!

I have cried a lot tonight. I'm having a Rosacea flare because of stress. It's not fair that Harry Potter fans like myself are being blamed for what JK does. I honestly do not support that scummy bitch one bit. However hp is one of my special interests and has been my life since I was a small child. I'm allowed to still support it without supporting her personal views. Anything I buy that's hp related I get second hand whenever possible. I am not a bad person for being a HP fan. I am the least hateful person I don't have the ability to hate on anyone. And it hurts the abuse we are getting rn. I totally get how trans people will be feeling rn but please don't blame us. Not all of us support that horrible woman.
